"School threatens legal action after Muslim girl told skirt is ‘too long’"

There’s so much “wrong” in that story I wouldn’t know where to begin:
- school uniforms in 2021?
- girls have to wear skirts?
- they shortened the length of skirts?
- refusing to go to school over clothing?
- a lawsuit?
- religious beliefs about clothing?
- a God interested in what length of skirt is appropriate attire?

Good grief.

This bullying angers the crap out of me.

The PC dress-code nazis are essentially saying, "You must dress to please US!!!"

The administrators need a good dope-slap

Shorter branded skirts - is the actual issue that she's not wearing clothing made by a particular manufacturer? Is there some school sponsorship deal, where the school rules have been adjusted to suit a particular provider?

@Earl-of-Trumps

Totally agree. Unless the skirt is so long that she could trip over it and injure herself I don't see why they are trying to enforce this BS.

When I went to school (more years ago that i care to admit to) in England the girls seemed to go for either just abouve the knee, just below, or kind of half way down the shin.

The risk of injury line has been used to deal with noncompliance with uniform since I was a kid. To be honest I think the prevalence of skirt related injuries is probably low.
