it is a bit of careful linguistics from the defenders. A coup is defined by a successful outcome.

Seditious conspiracy is not.

Seditious conspiracy is not.
Attempted coup. That is what sedition is.
Conspiracy to attempt a coup. Like what Trump tried to do in Venezuela and failed.

Yah failed coup. Like someone who runs only half a marathon but thinks that failure is worth celebrating so they put a 13.1 sticker on their car.

I was addressing the pseud known as shag doody for brains and using the language he used to do so.

Maybe it would be more accurate to call it a "pre-coup"; it wasn't trying to overthrow the existing government but rather prevent a legal transfer of power.

"Sedition," conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch, is exactly the correct word for what happened, and for which some people have been justly convicted. Whether the rebellion succeeds or not is irrelevant. We are waiting for the instigator-in-chief to be indicted.

Unless there's evidence we're unaware of, I doubt Trump will be indicted for "instigating" January 6th.

His words were clear enough to convey a message of what he wanted the mob to do, but vague enough to avoid criminal charges IMO.

I do that all of the time. I have never been convicted of sedition. Speech is not illegal in the USA. We have the first constitutional amendment here in the USA.

"His words were clear enough to convey a message of what he wanted the mob to do"

And what was that? Be specific.

"If we allow this group of people to illegally take over our country because it's illegal when the votes are illegal when the way they got there is illegal when the states that vote are given false and fraudulent information."

"And if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore."

"So we're going to, we're going to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue. I love Pennsylvania Avenue. And we're going to the Capitol, and we're going to try and give."

What could they do at the Capitol on January 6th 2021 to "fight like hell" or they wouldn't have a "country anymore"?

Probably didn't need zip ties for that.

Incitement to riot is illegal and not covered by the BoR.
