Secondly, perhaps you should put my comments into context (if I remember correctly it was criticism of right-wing banning of books and anti-gay laws, etc. ).

The US has signed up to several international treaties you seem to know squat-diddely about.
To sign up to an international treaty, the national parliament has to agree.
An important one, in context of refugees, is the 1951 treaty on the status of refugees.
Or at least, I think you’re complaining about refugees…
However, you could be on about all sorts of immigration from Southern and Central American countries.
If so, then the question must be asked: why are the countries these people are coming from such hell-holes, that they feel they need to move to the welcoming embrace of Texas and the like?
Well, their countries are, generally speaking, hell-holes, because in the 1970’s and 1980’s the US interfered with their electoral processes, because they were swinging to thr left. Large companies like United Fruits didn’t like labour-laws, etc.
So, the US set up the School of the Americas and taught extreme right wing groups from these countries military and secret service techniques.
And the US funded these right-wing groups and all sorts of madness to make sure these poorer nations didn’t turn socialist.

Banning books? If I want to read a book about a transphob queer who marries a man, and the man has a baby....I can. I can buy and read the book. If the government says that children should be restricted from reading such books......the books have not been banned. You libs are so liberal it makes my teeth hurt.
