@Kunsoo
Though nothing is certain about the future, I see a very real potential here of turning the tide at last, and pushing the fascists into a full retreat for years to come. At least, this ticket has the ingredients to make it happen, if Democrats can keep the Senate, win the House, and pass legislation to reverse the perverse rulings of a corrupt Supreme Court.
This last point is critical: pass a federal law to guarantee the right to an abortion. It should have been done decades ago. Also: a complete federal assault weapons ban. Pass it, and do not apologize. It is the apologizing that pisses off and demoralizes progressives and the average citizen. Embrace the "liberal" label, and FIGHT!
The average citizen in no way looks like the parade of fascist freaks that passed across the stage during the Republican national convention!
Their only strength is fear-mongering. They can be beaten, and lastingly destroyed. I'm glad Kamala Harris picked an unapologetic progressive warrior with proven credentials.

has a lot in common with biden...like little juvenile girls too
@Soothfast
It's what they have. Trump can't win on policy. He doesn't know anything about policy. The GOP platform is essentially "Trump will save you."
@Kunsoo saidAfter -- what? Ten years? Fifteen?? And still the GOP hasn't said what the "replace" part of "repeal and replace" would be, should they somehow take away Obamacare.

The Republicans have nothing. Nothing at all, except: hate immigrants, treat women as chattel, give everything to the oligarchs and corporations, sneer at proven science, and party like it's 1882.
@Soothfast said.... And they will still get tens of millions to vote for them.

If Harris wins the fascists will NEVER just go away, they will just retreat into the shadows and proceed like before.
@Kunsoo saidI kind of wish she picked Buttigieg just to watch the Republicans loose their minds at a black woman running for pres with a gay man.
Her VP choice tells me that her team is serious about winning.
For the 71 percent who haven't met Tim Walz, this is a fun video.

@sonhouse saidIf you read what I wrote carefully, you'll note that I never say the fascist problem could be permanently fixed by a resurgent Democratic party. "Years to come" does not mean forever. The fascists always come back, usually after most of those who suffered under a previous fascist regime have died off. Then idiots who don't know much about history start the whole agonizing song all over again.

And, mind you, I only see a Harris/Walz victory as postponing, for a handful of years, a dire reckoning in the US over its antediluvian constitution that just begs to be taken advantage of by reactionary lizard people. The US desperately needs a modern constitution, and not a sketchy gentlemen's agreement that does not have credible checks and balances when one of the two major parties loses its effing mind.
