Should short selling be banned?

I just heard today that the uptick rule should be reinstated in about a month.!!! Additionally, there were some good things reported by Citi group. As a result, the market jumped about 300 points today. Finally some leadership from the SEC and some good news for Wall Street.

So am I a prophet or is my sway over the powers that be such that they hang on my every word? LOL.
