It could well be that some crooked lawyer (Cherie Blair?) specialising in making a fortune from the EU 'Human Rights' legislation will be alloweed to argue in the UK High Court, at vast expense to the long-suffering taxpayers, that the skipping-rope maunufacturers are liable to pay exemplary damages for having deprived this poor kid from reaching old age.

He did not kill himself. The rope killed him. Much like guns kill people.A Jump rope that kills should (for starters) be banned or at least be incarcerated for life. We can ban jumprope look- a - likes as they commit their killings. They should only be allowed at the Olympic games and training with these deadly ropes should only be done on the moon.

of course, one could sue anyone it is their rights. the messed up thing happens when they actually win.

i heard airlines companies do not allow pregnant women who are in their 8th month or later to travel by air because they might go into labour, have complications and sue. for that matter, anywhere that person would go into labour and have complications they could sue the person ext to them. this is a legal nightmare.

It is indeed a legal nightmare as is the EU 'human rights' nonsense that Blair signrd upto and which now prevents the UK deporting convicted foreign terrorists who have completed their prison sentences.
It is no good blaming the judges; they are only applying the 'law' to which our half-baked New Labour government has subscribed.

the problem isnt the skip rope...

its how surprisingly dumb that kid is to accidentally hang himself. if it wasnt intentional, well lets face it, who the hell is that stupid?

Please, no one is addressing the issue from the rational approach. A rope, inherently, is not a "skipping rope!" A rope is a rope. It only becomes a "skipping rope" when the user employs it as such. Thus, the actual solution to this murderous skipping rope crisis is to outlaw all general public sales and uses of rope. Only properly trained, certified, licensed and regulated professionals should be allowed to access ropes in any way. The accounting trail should be precise and comprehensive. Any unlicensed uses of a rope, such as tying the wrists of one's girlfriend behind her back while she is blindfolded would, from now on, be banned . .that sort of thing . . .for "playing" with a rope in any form could lead to accidental or intentional hanging. Naturally, in the interest of justice, legally sanctioned hangings by state executioners would be acceptable.

what about if the government distributed computer simulators to all people who wish to jump-rope and the user is then looking from a 1st person view of himself skipping rope... 😀
therefore, making it impossible for the user to be hung to death.. do not use this product if you are: blind, pregnant, have heart problems, or are drinking any type of liquid at the moment. (side effects may include, dizziness, nausea, loss of sight, neurological damage, bloodshot eyes, and/or uncontrollable bouncing.)🙄

i suppose virtual rope skipping would be acceptable, unless one presumed that it actually is skipping rope, then it would have to be banned. this is counterintuitive, i realize, but think of it this way. imagine someone is playing chess on a computer and isn't actually moving any 'real' pieces around a 'real' board . . .are they 'really' playing chess? sure they are, while the game board and pieces don't actually exist, the game does. therefore, virtual rope skipping would also have to be banned so that some idiot doesn't go and virtually hang himself on it
