It’s strange that Qatar should have been given the world cup in the first place.
So many real footballing nations were in the running... stinks of corruption to me...

Anyways... hard call to make.
I think along the lines of lessons learned and all that.

And certainly a form of international health and safety should monitor the situation there after the reports we’ve been given.

The fact of Blatter's corruption is clear.
The reluctance to alter its consequences is what rankles.

On boycotts of Sporting Events: How many Events have actually been devaluated by the boycotts in the past? I remember that Germany (FRG) boycotted the Olympics in Moskow. But the results are still in the books. A lot of sportspersons were disappointed to have been robbed of sometimes their only chance to compete… same four years later in LA (this time GDR..)
