Since 1965
Democrats (25 years in power):
3 indictments
1 conviction
1 prison sentence.
Republicans (28 years in power):
120 indictments
89 convictions
34 prison sentences.
So if you are Left leaning, the message is clear. Democrats good, Republicans bad.
But if you live in the real world, a world that saw the likes of someone like Charley Rangel in Congress who was found guilty of 11 of 13 ethical violations escape justice, (and when they use the word ethical they are really talking about stuff like not paying taxes which would land anyone else in jail), then you have to sit and wonder. Do the democrats own the Swamp and court system?
Come to think of it, do you know of any lawyers who are conservatives? Looking at donations to political parties, lawyers give about all their money to the DNC.

Is there an ethical and justice crisis in the US when it comes to partisan politics, or is the democrat party really this angelic, as their cool aid drinking groupies say they are?
The Left has unwittingly dug up all the evidence we need for implicating the Deep State.
@kazetnagorra saidThen your position is that democrats are inherently good and Republicans bad.
Mental gymnastics: 9.5/10
It would have to be.
Is there a genetical thread perhaps?
@kazetnagorra saidWhat if I told you the left wing and the right wing were the same bird ??
My position is that Democrats are bad and Republicans are worse.
@whodey saidHave you considered the following alternative: the media you consume exaggerate or fabricate crimes of Democratic politicians, while condoning or concealing crimes of Republican politicians?
Only one side goes to jail?
Interesting, isn't it.
Does it give you any pause that when democrats in power the media and justice system seem to take a nap?
@whodey saidAmazing. You produce those figures and your first conclusion is a conspiracy theory!

@whodey saidHave you thought that maybe the democrats have a better vetting system? Or that they have more checks and balances in place?

Or maybe look at the sorts of crimes that have been committed. Is there a pattern? If so, perhaps republicans are more susceptible to the environments in which the patterns occur.
To automatically think society is rigged, is hell of a jump.
@shavixmir saidAre you suggesting that the problem is within the Republican party and not holding the democrat party to the same standards?

We must first address one of the topics I pointed out, like the inability to bring to justice one Charley Rangel.
This is just a taste.
•He was discovered taking a tax break only for people whose primary residence was in Washington DC, but if his primary residence was in DC he couldn’t be congressman representing NYC. At that time he was also occupying four rent controlled apartments in New York. According to the NYC laws one doesn’t qualify for rent control unless the apartment is your primary residence. So Charlie was double-dipping. So he also got in trouble for using one of the apartments as his office.
•There was the $1.95 million, federal earmark which funded the [score]Charles B. Rangel[/score] Center for Public Service. This one was legal but it still reeked .
•He misused his congressional office to fund raise for the above private Rangel Center by preserving a tax loophole for an oil drilling company in exchange for a donation to his vanity Charles B. Rangel center.
•Then there was the investigation of the NY Congressman, revolving around a Caribbean boondoggle.
•Once the ethics investigation of Rangel began, he gave campaign donations to 119 members of Congress, including three of the five Democrats on the House Ethics Committee who are charged with investigating him. I am sure the investigation had little to do with the donations…he was just being “friendly”
Any of us would be in jail for such things, but Charley not only evaded jail, he continued to serve as a Congressman and then retire with a plush retirement, courtesy of the American taxpayer
Want another example?
Former Rep. John Conyers resigned December 5 last year following a Buzzfeed News report on the Representative's sexual harassment settlement.
Marion Brown, the former staffer was paid a roughly $27,000 settlement drawn from Conyers’ congressional office budget — not the Office of Congressional Compliance fund set aside for congressional settlements.
After initially denying that he has not settled with any current or former staff members, Conyers admitted he had reached a monetary settlement with a former staff member. But the case was resolved “with an express denial of liability,” he said. He then tried to have his son take his place but was later found to be charged with domestic violence for beating his girlfriend to a pulp.

You just can't make this stuff up, and not one served jail time. Not one arrest or charge.
In fact, it was found that Congress has paid settlements to women who have been raped or sexually abused in some form or another to the tune of about $17 million of taxpayer money.

But perhaps the most famous and shining example of corruption are the Clintons, next to Quid Pro Joe, that is.
Hillary should have been put in jail for just one of those lies, like General Flynn was.
@whodey saidDude... you don’t start with exceptions.

@whodey saidWhen one has a belief which is fixed and does not change in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary it is known as a delusion. What's interesting is that normally people who are delusional focus on arguments that support their delusion, producing ad hoc counters when presented with evidence that contradicts it and only when evidence is so presented to them. Most people don't start threads presenting evidence that is most simply explained by the exact opposite of what they believe or would like to believe. Either you are secretly a Democrat attempting to discredit the Republicans by pretending to be deranged or you are deranged.
