If I live in Detroit and I’m very wealthy, and give $100,000 a month to the local church to feed the poor, ….. follow me here…. I will call them tomorrow and tell them that I will no longer be able to send them any money, it is my choice, my money, and I have no obligation to give the Church the money. I just stopped. I think the use of the word refuse as a bit of a stretch, as I was under no obligation, and they literally only need to say thank you for what you have already done.
