Typical Left Coast-U.S. response, and your profile fits the response to a "T"...keep on yawning, you'll eventually fall asleep if you haven't already.....something tells me you are snoring.....about right...now......

No Chirac is 'thinking' about getting the military involved...
Guess they haven't surrendered for a while, don't want to get too much out of practice...you never know when the Germans will come a-knockin' again...

Jacques Chirac should put down his fiddle and take the following actions:
1) Call the U.N.
2) Convene a meeting of the U.N. Security Council
3) Ask Council to pass a resolution condemning the violence taking place in France
4) Include language in the resolution that further action will be taken if ...[text shortened]... n 120 days.
5) When violence does not end in 120 days, repeat steps 1-4
That should stop it.

The desert climate of southeastern California is much like the middle-east, where they grow date palms and melons. Central/Southern California and the San Joaquin/ San Fernando valleys grow everything from peaches, oranges, strawberries to vegetables. There are probably 20 micro-climates in the whole state. Name a fruit or vegetable, and I guarantee it can be grown commercially in CA. One can drive 2 hours NE from Los Angeles and snow ski, or three/four hours south and be in the hot deserts of Baja California, Mexico or snorkeling in the tropical waters there. I can drive 20 miles east from the Pacifice Ocean and have temp. changes of +/- 10 to 20 degrees. San Diego, where I live, is considered to have the best climate in the whole North American continent, average yearly temp is as follows:

I like living in California, and appreciate the diversity ot it, but it is like a bowl of cereal;it has more than enough "nuts", "flakes", and "fruits" one can handle on a daily basis.
EACH MONTH HAS 12 CLEAR, 8 PARTLY CLOUDY AND 11 CLOUDY DAYS. HEAVY FOG OVERSPREAD THE CITY ON AN AVERAGE OF 3 DAYS EACH JANUARY BUT IT IS A MOST VARIABLE PHENOMENON, SOME MONTHS HAVING AS HIGH AS
10 DAYS. THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY IS QUITE LOW AVERAGING 70 PERCENT

But no. Hicks just had the same point of view as me on drugs, Republicans, abortion, the pro-life people, religion and most other topics. That's why I quote him a lot.
Instead of Googling him, perhaps you should download some of his MP3's.

Are some of the titles to look out for.

Good post lol
If Americans started to support and galvanise the UN rather than laughing at it and ignoring it might becaome a more dynamic organisation.
This attitude seems to born out of two things:
The UN's in ability to find WMD in Iraq.
The corruption in the oil for food programme.
On the first issue Hans Blix has been proven right.
On the second issue, whilst there was corruption and lies told it would apper there has been manipulations of the truth by coalition governments and their advisors too.
Obvioously France's internal politics has nothing to do with the UN.

A lot of Americans love the U.N., but a lot of us also think the U.N. is a joke... they never accomplish anything, all they seem to do is pass resolutions...the U.N. passed 17 resolutions over 12 years "ordering" Saddam to comply with the terms of the 1991 Gulf War Surrender. He thumbed his nose at the U.N., year after year, resolution after resolution... thus, the Iraq war...
The U.N. is also extremely (and I mean extremely) anti-Israel. They are constantly taking the side of naitons that have, as their goal, the complete destruction of Israel. The U.N. hates the U.S. and it hates Israel. If Bobby Fischer replaced Kofi as the Sec General, no one would know the difference...
And Syria on the Human Rights Commission??
And people wonder why a lot of us think the U.N. is a big joke?

The UN's inability to find WMD in Iraq.
The corruption in the oil for food programme.

I'm not sure I'd say that Blix has been proven right... you'll recall that not only did Saddam throw the inspectors out for a few years back in 1998, but even while they were there, there were a whole lot of places in Iraq to which Saddam would not grant them access. The U.N. did nothing about Saddam's refusal to allow access to all areas. Again, the U.N. is all talk, which is useless when you're dealing with someone like Saddam...
On the second issue, whilst there was corruption and lies told it would apper there has been manipulations of the truth by coalition governments and their advisors too.
Obvioously France's internal politics has nothing to do with the UN.
By the time all the facts are out, the oil-for-food scandal is going to be one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) financial scandal in history. A lot of us have known about this scandal for 2-3 years, the media (at least the mainstream media in the U.S.) hasn't come close to reporting everything that went on...and Mr. Chirac is right in the middle of it all.
I understand that France's internal politics are not really tied to the U.N., that comment was more a jab at the left, who thinks that the U.S. needs to be more like France, and who also think that the U.S. HAS to get approval from the U.N. before any action can be taken.
btw, just saw your profile...congratulations on becoming a daddy earlier this year! Hope all is well on the homefront..
Originally posted by invigorateYou actually think dumping it money is going to solve the problem? The UN dont have no credability, and other nations knows it can do whatever it wants and still get away from it, because the UN will never do anything. Basicly the UN is a joke, giving it more money wont solve the problem, the only thing that might help would be to kick out the french, which wont ever happen. So we should leave it ourselves, and if we did the UN will fail completly. What good is a UN resolution if its not gonna enforce it?
