[b]Is "soundbite democracy" in fact detrimental - perhaps even fatally so - to healthy deliberative and genuinely interactive democracy?
[quote]The world is a complex place and its very difficult to convey all the available information on any issue. Explaining the context, accuracy, probability and every other factor involved in a point of view is nigh e form of SOUNDBITES, strictly no longer than TEN words?

A "right" is not necessarily one that is actually obtainable under existing conditions. In fact, the very idea of fighting to get rights implies that, at least in some important respect, the rights people are entitled to cannot actually be had, and a change must be attempted so that they may be able to actually enforce and enjoy their rights.
