We love our freedom, and will fight for it. The US isn't fighting in Iraq or anywhere for American freedom!?

To maintain our security we must lead. Please. Nobody likes a self appointed dictator.

My apologies if the paraphrasing is poor. The speech is live right now.

Arrogance and truth.......a great combination. Go read some History books, and learn more. While America didn't single-handedly win WW2 on behalf of Europe, western Europe, maybe with the exception of Great Britain, would surely have fallen into Russian hands. The economic might of the U.S. tipped the balance in favor of the allies, and thus History was made. The U.S. arguably beat Japan almost singlehandedly. These truths are hard for many Euros to swallow, but my Mom, from Italy, who married a G.I. at the end of the war, would tell you, if she were alive today, that America did indeed "save the day".....I'm not gloating.....just stating facts....

We are fighting for our freedom indirectly, if you can see it that way. If we don't destroy these SOB Islamofascists on there own turf, your sister and mother stand a good chance of being raped, and you beheaded on a square somewhere in some town America.....me included...

If not for the USA supplying the English and the Russians with material, and the USA entering the war, we would all be speaking Japanese or German.

What if England or Russia didn't help?

You are showing your ignorance of WW2, no offense intended. Russia and England had no choice but to fight as Germany declared war on both countries and attacking them outright. If GB and Russia didn't "help" as you say, and rolled over "dead", Germany may well be ruler of Europe and Russia today.

You are showing your ignorance of WWII as well; Germany declared war on the US, not the other way around. Most German forces throughout the war were engaged on the Eastern Front, almost 80% until D-Day and over 60% afterwards. By and large, the Soviets defeated the Germans and probably would have done so whether the US entered the war or not.

BTW, England declared war on Germany after the Germans invaded Poland; the Germans did not declare war on England and would have been quite happy not to fight the British at all (at least in the short run).

The USA was more focused on Japan .How much did the Russians help there? As far as Eurpoe is concerned the US supplied most of the weapony, and poured alot of funds and manpower into it.Sure the Russians did a major part of the fighting in the east but the Yanks with the English etc.did the damage in the west and forced Hitler to fight on 2 fronts.

The Chinese had no nuclear arms back then.
Ultimately 2 nukes won the war.

No1!, I'm answering thousand's question about what if England and Russia didn't fight. You, as usual, stick your grubby fingers into the debate pie, stirring up the usual fecal ingredients! I never said anything about the U.S. declaring war on Germany. Ok, England declared war on Germany; a slight error on my part that didin't have anything to do with our discussion regarding the question :what if England and Russia refused to fight; other than that, I agree with the rest of your assessment of the situation....

It IS a sure thing that if the Allies had not cooperated ,we would have been screwed.
