http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2076554/Taliban-enemy-says-Joe-Biden-US-negotiate-deal-end-Afghanistan-war.html

After the Obama administration has conducted war operations in Afghanistans with a recent surge in troops that have pushed the Taliban out of much of their southern stronghold, Vice President Joe Biden has now come out and stated that the Taliban is not really the enemy after all.

"White House efforts to strike a deal with the repressive Islamist movement that has been killing US soldiers for a decade -- even if it is now widely accepted the war can not be won on the battlefield alone -- could become a liablity for Mr. Obama in an election year."

So if the Taliban has not been the enemy of the US all these years in Afghanistan, who have they been fighting? The hysterical part of all this is that the Taliban refuses to negotiate until US forces have been withdrawn. They know that they have won the war and once the US forces leave will overwhelm the hoplessly corrupt US backed Karzai's forces.

In the interim, however, you will see a repeated song and dance about how the US will negotiate a peace so they can withdraw and save face. If you ask me, however, saving face does not include referring to a foe who you have been at war with for a decade as not being your enemy. That only makes you look foolish and weak. Personally, I think had they gone in specifically to kill Bin Laden, which I think they could have done much earlier, and then pull out would have sent a different message and would not have been looked upon as weakness. However, this approach is laughable. They are almost in a position to beg the Taliban to negotiate so they can get the @@## out of that hellish country.

Of course, they must come up with a plan to pull out soon. After all, they have another war to plan for up north.

I haven't been to the link. Which "war to plan for up north" is the Daily Mail referring to?

Actually, that was from Whodey, not the link. The link merely points out that Biden now says that the Taliban is not the enemy, and that they are looking to negotiate with them.

The war to come that I referenced was Iran. It's just a hunch FMF.

Before getting into the Afganian war 2001 the objective for the war was to wipe the talibans off the face of the earth for not handing oven bin Ladin, right?
USA failed with this. Not only failed, but even helping taliban regaining its poser. Isn't this a sign that USA lost the war of Afganistan?
Lost.

I thought it was to bring "democracy" to Afghanistan.

Who is the Enemy then?

Why are the poppy fields even more productive than ever when that was meant to be stopped?

Why hasn't anyone ever been brought to justice for this illegal war ( Iraq also ) yet?

Why did it take so long to kill Binbag Laden?

What was/ is the point of the ongoing war in the area and with the surrounding countries?

How come the Administration will talk to the Taliban and won't recognise or talk to Hamas ( an elected popular gov in Gaza ) which it call a terrorist organisation who have not killed any US troops??

But the talibans refused to hand him over. Therefore USA went into Afganistan to get rid of the talibans. They are still there, aren't they? And now the are friends with USA, and with the aid of USA getting its former poser back.

USA lost the war. Talibans won.
