Since Russian President Vladimir Putin's critics have the nasty habit of turning up dead (Alexander Litvinenko, Anna Politkovskaya, etc.), how long before Russian chess grand master Garry Kasparov becomes a target?

European countries have good relations with Russia and that makes it easier for Russians to operate in Europe. (I think we've all seen what they can get done in England.) This is not the story with the U.S. (Not that we are devoid of Russian spies)
He knows he would never get a green light on Chechnya if this happened here - which would work nicely for him - and isn't out of the realm of possibility at this point. Plus, we would stop being mostly silent about it.
And, we keep pretty good track of a lot of other countries spies that are here in the states. If they tried one of these nuclear poisoning tricks on our turf, there would be a lot of Russians with considerable knowledge being interrogated in prisons that nobody knows about. Any of you comrades up for some water-boarding?
In short, they should come here because it's slighty harder for Pooty Pants to croak 'em. I personally don't think he wants to raise the stakes either. He would get his bluff called. After all, "Dubya" is from the state that invented Texas Hold'em. I doubt Dr. Evil has what it takes to go all in.
Kasparov just recently held an anti-Putin rally. He lead about 2000 people. Putin made sure to have plenty of police on hand. They were surrounded by police during the entire rally.
Kasparov is playing the most important chess game of his life and I don't think he's looking for a draw. There's a chance somebody will be saying checkmate when this is over. At this point, it looks to me like Putin has a better position going into the end game.
Garry Kasparov is putting his life on the line to better his nation. He's a true patriot and worthy of your support.
