odds are that it is unfair.
I've just watched properly. (Had it on the HD for ages and never actually watched it end to end).
Is it fair to the U.S. military and the Bush administration?
Oscar aside. And comparisons to a completely different film aside (this is certainly no Michael Moore film, that's for sure).
Or haven't you seen it?
In November 2007, Taxi to the Dark Side was named by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as one of 15 films on its documentary feature Oscar shortlist.[6][7] On February 24, 2008, in his acceptance speech for the "Best Documentary Feature" Academy Award, Alex Gibney said:
“ This is dedicated to two people who are no longer with us, Dilawar, the young Afghan taxi driver, and my father, a navy interrogator who urged me to make this film because of his fury about what was being done to the rule of law. Let’s hope we can turn this country around, move away from the dark side and back to the light.[8]
Utherpendragon, have you seen "Taxi To The Dark Side"? Assuming that it's more or less fair to all concerned, what would be your feelings about how Rumsfeld and co. avoided taking responsibility for what happened? And what about only the lowest ranks being prosecuted - not a single officer?

Originally posted by utherpendragonIt's a cut or three above Michael Moore's documentaries - if you've got the same Oscar related misgivings that zeeblebot has got. If it's a fair and objective documentary - which it makes strenuous efforts to seem like - then yes, I recommend it. If it's thought to be a hatchet job in some quarters, then I would be interested to know about why.
