In keeping with conservative ideals in maintaining their librarys, school districts are banning some selected books.

One of the books banned is the Bible.

I do see some humor here. 🤣

While not in this article, I also heard that another book ban was Trump's "Art of the Deal".

Enjoying my morning coffee over this. 😜

To be fair neither belong in an educational establishment and one of them qualifies as satyr

That could explain the "bone spurs".

It's a little misleading.

The book, ‘The Diary of Anne Frank’ was removed because the author is NOT Anne Frank.
Like any public library, the people should have a say as to that which they pay for. pure democracy

So, after years of claiming schools were indoctrinating kids towards the left, the right has decided they need indoctrination towards hate and fear.

BTW, "The Diary of a Young Girl" was written by Anne Frank. What this school board objected to is another, illustrated, adaptation of the book. “Anne Frank’s Diary: The Graphic Adaptation,” by Israeli filmmaker Ari Folman and illustrator David Polonsky, is a 2019 illustrated adaptation of the bestselling diary by the teenage Holocaust victim. The New York Times called the book “so engaging and effective that it’s easy to imagine it replacing the [original] ‘Diary’ in classrooms and among younger readers.”

Banning books is never good. The last government who decided that censorship was a good idea was the Third Reich. "Be sure to pick up your free swastika on the way out, y'all!"

Firstly, nobody "banned books" here. If I refuse to buy a certain book, that does NOT mean I banned it. The same applies here.
Those people have all the right in the world to toss those books out of *their* library.

Secondly, Anne Frank's diary was not written by Anne Frank.
Anne Frank, legally, did not write The Diary of Anne Frank by herself. The Anne Frank Foundation—which owns the diary’s copyright—now claims that Otto Frank, Anne’s father who edited the diary after his daughter’s death, is a co-author (paywall).

The book may now, legally, have a co-author, but the book itself, "The Diary of a Young Girl", was indeed written by Anne Frank. The book this school district banned was an adaptation.

Why ban an adaptation?
Complete crazy-town.

Explain what it is. Put it into context.
Like bloody statues.

The bottom line is showing how totally BANANA'S the state government is in Texas.
They can't even keep their own POWER GRID running right AND refuse to accept outside help to keep people from dying like they already did the LAST time it broke down in mid winter.
So banning books is just one more symptom of the Trump raised illness going on with what used to be republicans, not that they were much better EVER but they didn't AUTOMATICALLY call the Biden win the big steal. Till Trump came around.
Trump has singlehandedly ruined politics in the USA and we can only HOPE the state legislators trying to pass laws allowing them to kick out electoral college officials and install their own LEGALLY which by definition will be the end of democracy in the US, we can only hope legal cases brought against that sick agenda will win out but the conservative movement has ALWAYS been opposed to anyone but white men being allowed to vote, for them, no women, no blacks, no indigenous, no brown votes should be allowed, go back to 1870, women barefoot and pregnant.

If the book banners want to be consistent about their business, they certainly should chuck the bible into the bonfire. It's full of rape, incest, murder, pagan orgies, and an omnipotent malignant narcissist who gets his jollies off of ordering a father to slaughter his own son -- and then saying "nah, just kidding" when he was about to do it.

Pretty sick stuff.

Yeah, that ain't happening either.

This is the great thing about having a totalitarian government that is also quasi-religious.

You're just a hypocrite that doesn't care who knows it.

I can't decipher what you're saying.

In seriousness I'm against banning any books, including the bible.

Don’t ban the bible!
It’s got loads of pages. Excellent for when toilet paper runs out.
