@no1marauder saidMore important to you maybe.
The fact that the mid-decade census under the rules Trump is insisting on is both illegal and unconstitutional is a bit more important than bean counter objections.
Thousands of scientists may lost their jobs nationwide over a $15 billion NIH budget cut, with the rationale that it was wasteful spending. Then they turn around and spend it on a useless repeat of a census that was just recently completed?
I don't care if it's unconstitutional. It's dumb wasteful government spending in a period where they are trying to impose austerity measures in government.
@Mott-The-Hoople saidStat source for what? The American middle class being undertaxed by world standards?
can you post your stat source? or are you just making these things up?
@AverageJoe1 saidOnly an American Republican would doubt the truth of that statement.
A shorter way to say this, is that the costs to make and distribute (sell) a product are built into the final price of the product.
Re your other note, Trump is loony?
@wildgrass saidThe idea that you think not spending $15 billion on a useless illegal and unconstitutional census might actually save spending cuts on something useful shows childish naivety but nothing else.

The US upper class is taxed ridiculously low, we spend absurd amounts on weapons and war and we have an inefficient and wasteful health care system that is more concerned with corporate profits than the actual health of the People. Until those structural defects are addressed, partisan whining like yours won't accomplish anything.
@no1marauder saidIt's not an idea. $15 billion is a real number and a lot of money.

When the US military "loses" pallets of cash in the desert, the reality is that this money was stolen from US taxpayers. That same principle applies here. You can argue constitution all day long but the use of tax dollars to support political operations is wrong prima facie and should be rejected by voters not judges.
@wildgrass saidActually, it was just a little less than 2020... with infinitely less excuse.
2021 was historic but a lot less than 2020 so...

@sh76 saidWhat happened in Bidens first budget year though?
Actually, it was just a little less than 2020... with infinitely less excuse.
A $1.4 trillion drop in the deficit in 2022. That's historic. The only thing he could have done better policy wise would have been repealing all of Trump's policies, but he had a republican Senate.
@Kewpie saidYou made TWO claims…
Stat source for what? The American middle class being undertaxed by world standards?
“Revenues are generated by tariffs. But they don't come from foreign countries. They come from whoever buys the goods in America, i.e. the American middle class, who are undertaxed by world standards”
Lets see your stat source

Foolish policies that you supported by politicians like DeSantis and Noem contributed to the length and severity of the pandemic.
@wildgrass saidThe apples-to-apples comparison for 2022 would be to 2019, not to 2021.

@no1marauder saidWe're so far apart on covid policy that it hardly even pays to go at it again, but for anyone who's interested, this book by David Zweig makes my case pretty clearly (though he does repeat himself too much):

@AverageJoe1 saidLook where that got him. He was banished, never to be heard from again.
Here we go. Cain had his reasons for not wanting to do things for Abel, and so he asked God . Am I his keeper.?!?!?? I think that would be a fair question since he did not want anything to do with him. Do you follow?
Why do you never close your posts?
@sh76 saidIf we want the opinion of a writer with no medical training who's a critic of mask wearing during a deadly pandemic and a supporter of the Great Barrington Declaration, we can read Metal Brain here.
