Thats wishful thinking. I was reading up on this issue and it appears Trump is hellbent on getting some kind of control of Greenland. Denmark and NATO countries on the whole will be well advised to put on their negotiating caps so that some good can come of it instead of confrontation. Trump will win if there is confrontation. USA and Europe need to be allies regardless of what happens. Falling out over Greenland is going to be loss for Europe, not USA.
Trump is just bringing attention to the fact NATO is a farce that nobody will honor when tough decisions need to be made like whether or not to get into a war of choice. What good is NATO to protect a nation from Russia if the USA is going to invade them instead?

Agreed. I guess buying the resources is not as good as stealing them. Trump is openly criminal. He is doing it for the elites though. He is just a puppet doing their dirty work. It might be more about denying the resources to China. They even think China wants to do that to us on the moon. Perhaps projection, but water on the moon is like gold.
The western elites feel threatened by the rise of China. China is becoming very powerful in a short amount of time. Too powerful for comfort to the western empire.

Europe could hit America hard where it hurts, if it acted as a unit, by uniformly and rigorously doing the following:
1. imposing 1,500% tariff on all U.S. goods entering the EU;
2. refusing entry to U.S. naval vessels at all EU ports;
3. levying a $50,000 processing fee for all U.S. persons traveling to or within the Shengen Area;
4. terminating power, water, garbage and sewerage disposal services at U.S. diplomatic and military facilities within the EU.
Somebody in Trump's inner circle should start talking truth to power.
