Summary of the article : " The Democrats were once racist, but aren't any longer"

I also can't find any fault in what the democrats are doing, no one is obliged to publicely announce it's past mistakes.

And DSR continues to make racist anti-Arab anti-Muslim anti-black anti-Mexican anti-European accusations. And he's Republican.

Christ, are you really that thick? The Democrats were CONSERVATIVES then. The Republicans were LIBERALS. It switched in the early 1900's. So it didn't really matter what they were called.

What are you talking about? The Democrats are the racists -- it's in their genes. Why do you think they keep going on ad nausea about quotas and affirmative action? Why does everything revolve around race with the Democrats?

Affirmative action is against racism. That's the purpose of affirmative action. That the Republicans reject it is an ominous sign.

Similarly, why is it that the Democratic presidential nominee, for the second time in as many decades, is African-American? Why is it that McCain frequently uses the "race card" against Obama?

Yes, during the Civil War and Reconstruction Democrats had a history of racism. But that changed. LBJ was the "creator" of affirmative action. Democrat? Exactly.

*** The Supreme Court has ruled otherwise.

Similarly, why is it that the Democratic presidential nominee, for the second time in as many decades, is African-American?

*** Maybe there aren't that many qualified African-Americans running for president or there aren't any that are interested in holding the office.

Why is it that McCain frequently uses the "race card" against Obama?

*** You are insane. The Clintons and Obama himself are the ones guilty of playing the race card.

*** LBJ's Great Society programs created the urban ghettos, caused the dissolution of black families, increased crime and shiftlessness among blacks and did far more harm to black people than the most virulent racists of the Civil War era -- who, by the way, were Democrats -- could have ever done.

Everything you've said is wrong. You need to go back to your college and ask for a refund.

[/b][/i][/b][/i][/b][/i]Affirmative action gives inconvenienced minorities a recompense for actions that the whites did to them in the past. Tell me, how is that racist?

I did not support LBJ, but he was a Democrat and he upheld affirmative action.

The Clintons used race as a weapon against Obama. And McCain has a weird racist thing that I can't really place. We'll see what happens during the convention in September.
