From the 1940's to the 1980's my father was a union pipefitter; for decades, he and other white working-class men formed the bulk of the Democratic party. Recently however, in their headlong quest to become more minority friendly, the white working-class man has been largely ignored or at least taken for granted by today's Democratic party. As a result, many have drifted over to the GOP, and though the conservative agenda's management friendly / labor hating platform has been economically detrimental to the white working-class men, they at least have found a more understanding and sympathetic audience under the GOP tent. Democratics....you should be running away with these elections, but you're shooting yourselves in the foot here. Stop treating white working-class men as 2nd class citizens and give them the same respect (and media attention) you give our beloved minorities - or you'll continue to lose them!
@mchill saidYet white men make up the majority of Democratic politicians.

What issues do white working-class men have that are being "ignored"? Can you give some specifics? Otherwise, this is just an empty claim.
