Although I do not have a very high opinion of Nelson Mandela I would have given him credit for having more commonsense than to become assocaiated with oddballs and deadbeats such as Bishop Tutu, Fofi Anan, and Jimmy 'Peanuts' Carter under the aegis of a spiv like Richard Branson.

I don't fully agree with what you said about these people, with the exception of Branson - spiv is a good description.
