“People using self-driving cars will be allowed to watch television on built-in screens under proposed updates to the Highway Code.
“The changes will say drivers must be ready to take back control of vehicles when prompted, the government said.”

The robots are coming.

Oh, so, you’re gonna watch Schindler’s list, or any other random comedy, and be ready to intervene at any given moment… as the robot car decides what’s best for you.

Oh joy!

Sure, but will the car discuss sports,

Dear Shav - 100 years ago there were many companies around Europe and the US that made buggy whips, and many more people shaking their fists in the air proclaiming "If man was meant to fly, he'd have wings!" Self-driving vehicles are here to stay. You can either shake your fist in the air or sit back and enjoy the ride. - It's up to you. 🙂

We now have the technology to build the car from Knight Rider. This needs to happen immediately.

Dear Mchill,

I have absolutely no problem with technological evolution. However, letting machines take over driving is the first step to a very darwinistic end.

However, whilst you’re sitting in your electric self-driving ride, I’ll be on the streets car-herding.
