If the government has evidence that this man is a criminal then they'd use the legal process to remove him. Simple. The only reason they didnt do that is presumably because they didn't have evidence.

The longer the fascist maggots infesting the White House deny Garcia's repatriation and day in court, the worse it will get for them. This issue has become a lightning rod, and the storm is coming.
Anyone who is sane can sense that what happened to Garcia could easily happen to them, even if they are life-long citizens. Without honoring due process, a treasured right in every Western democracy, there is no bottom, and anyone can be sent to Trump's jungle gulag.
