No one has been charged under 18 USC 2383, the Rebellion , Insurrection statute. Why is that? Do not your dear leaders know that you fellers think it was an insurrection? You can't just prosecute someone with no basis,,,there should be evidence to convict someone on the statute that you claim was violated. We have to go beyond your narratives which just holler insurrection and all that goes with it. But prosecute on what basis? Just a curious question, I do not follow that little Jn 6 schism.
@averagejoe1 saidIt's the same standard stuff that police use for all riots. Obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder, entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds and forcibly assaulting, resisting, opposing, impeding federal officers.

We can play the game of semantics, whatever if you don't want to call it an insurrection. They charged the capital trying to get the person who lost a presidential election installed as president. Whatever they did, whether it's called a riot or gentle meandering through a federal building while Congress beelines for safe rooms, we should not encourage it happening again.
@wildgrass saidnow explain the capitol police inviting them in

@averagejoe1 saidJust because the insurrection was executed incompetently by philistine whackjobs dolled up in adolescent Punisher gear doesn't make it any less an insurrection.

@mott-the-hoople saidI dunno man. Maybe the police could testify and get them off the hook. That happens all the time but I'm not involved in their defense strategy. Joe was just asking what the charges were.

@wildgrass saidBut Ray Epps was not charged with a crime and he told people to go into the Capitol Building. Even Trump did not tell people to do that. Seems to me that Ray Epps is more guilty of encouraging an insurrection than Trump did. Epps told people to enter a restricted building. Epps even text messaged his nephew telling him he "orchestrated it".

Shouldn't Epps be in prison for inciting an insurrection?
@metal-brain saidThat's not on the list of criminal activity I provided but whatever. I have no idea if what ray Epps did is a crime.

@suzianne said?? But the question remains, why has that charge not been officially brought?? The govt and 100 lawyers must disagree with all of you.

@wildgrass saidHe told people to illegally enter a federal building.

Trump did not do that.
Ray Epps is more guilty of an insurrection than Trump. Why are you not outraged at Epps and want him in prison for seditious conspiracy?
@metal-brain saidI'm not prone to outrage in general. Almost everyone you see who is outraged in Congress or whatever is faking it, anyway.
