This guy, along with thousands of other schmucks, was duped by the fantasy that children are attending public school dressed up like animals and speaking in barks and meows and using litter boxes instead of toilets.

The difference is that this guy is a lawmaker who is using this to shape public policy. He made these statements on the floor of the legislature, and then after lunch he comes back to the floor to say "I looked it up and actually none of what I said is true, it was on Facebook so I trusted it..."

Come on guys/gals. This is what all the CRT arguments sound like. We are better than this. Just because a troll on the internet says something about CRT that fits your worldview does not mean a falsehood needs to be turned into real law and policy. Take a hike!

When I was a kid I remember the dumbest thing a politician ever did was spell "potato" wrong. That was Bush Sr.'s VP.

That act was apparently so egregious, he was mocked for years afterward.

Man. "Windmills cause cancer", "Jewish Space Laser", "lizard people", North Korea sending fake ballots by boat to New York....and now this in the OP.

The GOP is on a mission to be the single stupidest political entity that ever existed.

They are ticking all the boxes of incredibly stupid, I agree.

Although, I think the funniest thing last few years has to have been trump denying usinf a sharpie to doctor the hurricane map.

Flat out denying reality which everyone saw.

Incredible!

Aw Mott, that article's so cute - you realize the source for the information on furries disrupting classrooms is "an anonymous grandma"???

Hey, look up. The word 'gullible' is written on the ceiling. That's weird.

This stuff circulates on the internet all the time. It's fun. It's light. It's interesting to think about the idea of a child in a cat suit pooping in a litter box during class. It's also not real. That's fine that you fell for it Mott. You're an internet troll. But lawmakers are a different ball game. Their decisions affect our lives. If they're under the impression that the internet is real, then we're in big trouble.

That guy probably spent hours online googling this and working himself into a frenzy for this floor speech. But 2 phone calls to actual people - administrators at real schools that educate real people - cleared things up real fast. He apologized almost immediately. But why would he think it was a good idea to say anything about it before he confirmed the information was true from a real person?

What's unclear is whether the furries accepted his apology. Standing by.

I mean the fact that the Senator didn't mind saying something so seemingly absurd that he just "heard" - on the floor of the Senate and live TV - is important. It tells you a lot about where we are as a society.

This is a really good point. The so-called deja vu effect popularized in The Matrix in which small glitches reveal that we are actually programmed to believe in fake things.

Maybe we're living in the timeline where they test how gullible humanity is. If we make up an insanely fake story that no one in their right mind would believe (students defecating in litter boxes at school), and we use an "anonymous grandma" as the source for internet rumors, will people believe it?

That is not the conclusion of holographic theory.

Basically you have normal relativity (which to a certain extent is proven) and then you have quantum theory (which to a certain extent is proven). The two contradict each other.
So, physicists jump through all sorts of loops to create a singular theory which encompasses both.

Some think holographic theory does this. Imagine a 3D movie on a DVD disc.
The disc and the 3D movie are both still real.

So, your conclusion that nothing is real incorrect. It would be safer, albeit it still wrong, to conclude that everything is real.

Safer still is the assumption of “real enough for you.”
So, punch a wall. Does it hurt? Then your fist, that wall and the pain are real enough for you.
Do you hear that voice? Ask someone else if they hear it. If they don’t then it’s in your head and you get meds and the voice goes away: real enough for you.

Oh Shav, did you just solve the 2400 year debate on A priori vs Aposteriori?

Yes. Yes I believe I did.

So, you can only judge reality from your own perspective, but you can only judge your own perspective by measuring it with the world you witness.

Aye. Nobel prize comin’ my way!

So holographs are real?
A holograph is NOT a disc.
Is the 3D movie the holograph or the disc?

Explain yourself.

@Metal-Brain

Vlad is actually a super nice guy who loves bunnies, puppies, and kittens, but he's the victim of a vicious smear campaign by the CIA-controlled Western fake news media to make him look nasty.

Prove it wrong.

I think my post went over your head.

Nice post, Shav. I would only add that the world we witness is definitely a WE, collective, world. People go insane in solitary confinement.
