Aw Mott, that article's so cute - you realize the source for the information on furries disrupting classrooms is "an anonymous grandma"???
Hey, look up. The word 'gullible' is written on the ceiling. That's weird.
This stuff circulates on the internet all the time. It's fun. It's light. It's interesting to think about the idea of a child in a cat suit pooping in a lit ...[text shortened]... true from a real person?
What's unclear is whether the furries accepted his apology. Standing by.

@mott-the-hoople saidOk, Mott, you're kind of on to a different topic here. No one is arguing against the EXISTENCE of furries. You cited an "anonymous grandma" for evidence that they're disrupting classrooms and speaking to teachers with meows and barks, and still that is the only source for that claim. Think about that. An anonymous grandma in Kentucky has you convinced that's a thing.

The only reference to schools in this Rolling Stone article actually argues that this is not happening...
Despite the prevalence of anti-bullying campaigns and increasing acceptance of marginalized identities, it’s still not exactly considered socially OK for a Gen Z kid to waltz into their middle or high school with a dog or horse suit on.
Still laughing about that anonymous grandma. What kind of reporter runs with a story in which her source (a random elderly lady with grandkids) says she does not want to go on the record, she'd rather just discuss some things she heard. And then that reporter runs with the story, despite the quote from the Superintendent of that school clarifying that these incidents violate school dress codes.

@mott-the-hoople saidHunter's laptop is real and... say it after me.... chain of custody was clearly broken since Matt Gaetz has a copy.

Of course there are other stories which are made up. This one is too. It's ok to admit that. All those pictures of furries you are posting seem to all have one thing in common... they are not in school. We have plenty of real problems to address before we get around to making up ones that don't exist. Stop believing randos on the internet. The internet is not real...
@mott-the-hoople saidRepublican politicians aren't saying that kids are trying to get away with dress code violations at school and getting caught. This is a disingenuous characterization.

Republican politicians are saying that kids speak to teachers at school like they are animals. That schools are putting litter boxes in bathrooms. That schools are lowering their tables so kids can eat out of bowls without utensils like dogs.
These claims are usually made on the internet by anonymous "concerned parent" and "anonymous grandma" and are easily proven false by talking to a real person. Republicans, in their modern form, are not interested in solving real problems.

@shavixmir saidOff topic.
My God!
I can’t believe you are all ignoring my nobel prize winning post!
Moronic!

@shavixmir saidNo you just told us we should ignore the issue because it doesn’t really matter for all intents and purposes. I’m sure you’d love to see the conundrum solved though.
That is not the conclusion of holographic theory.
Basically you have normal relativity (which to a certain extent is proven) and then you have quantum theory (which to a certain extent is proven). The two contradict each other.
So, physicists jump through all sorts of loops to create a singular theory which encompasses both.
Some think holographic theory does this. I ...[text shortened]... your own perspective by measuring it with the world you witness.
Aye. Nobel prize comin’ my way!
It is a bit disconcerting when the scientific consensus seems to be that reality, whatever it is, is definitely not what we previously thought it was, or what we day to day perceive it to be.
@kevcvs57 saidWe've had this discussion before. To me, the high likelihood that we are not living in base reality is liberating, not disconcerting.

Meanwhile, as a sub-compartment of our not-real reality, the internet is even more not real. A computer game within our computer game. Within our simulation, we should accept a few common rules of society, and one of those should be to not trust a local grandma who would like her statements about furries in schools to be off-the-record.
