Make life easier for rich folks, harder for everyone else.

Musk doesn't have the experience or knowledge to determine what "waste" is as regards government spending. Cutting entire programs authorized by Congress because of some spending decisions he disagrees with isn't how an efficient democracy is run.

The American people voted a blatantly lying, convicted felon for President, but of course, it's not the person, it's the policies.....
Trump has no policies.

There is certainly a basis for what you say, that people without requisite experience should not be in charge of projects requiring said experience. But , It is a stretch for you to stir things up by saying they don't know what 'waste' is???Oh, please. My granny would say that giving money to the Green deal ($2B) without proper oversight by government authority is in itself waste, give me a break.
Also, the Webster def is correct in any arena. You are being disingenuous.

Anyway, your approach does not take into account that this Trump/Musk brilliant project is a new arena, learning as we go. Why, no one prob has ever checked on the Gold in Fort Knox. So, do you have the perfect advice on how to do that? We would ALL love to know the best approach. So, yes, you are right, Musk has no such experience, or how to shave a few thousand jobs off of IRS.
Ironic, IRS sent 70k new hires to investigate citizens, but it only takes one man, Musk, to investigate the IRS.

And let me correct you. Trump signs off on what Musk discovers, he is the final say. The President. Even the Constitution says that, so we can agree on Trump deciding. Musk does not act on something that big without the President OK, which he has the right to do, ....Even the Constitution says that, if I may repeat myself.

No, the Constitution doesn't say the President decides how the government spends money; that power explicitly is given to Congress.

We are not talking about ‘how the govt spends money’. Apologies if I implied that somewhere. Even my Aunt Melon knows Congress has to approve expenditures of money. She learned that when she heard that Biden tried to go around Congress to pay the loans of people that had graduated from college….. It took SCOTUS to straighten his ass out.
You have certainly got to love firing general Bbrown for being woke. He literally wanted to sprinkle diversified people into running the security of our country. What a total horrible person. He should be put in jail in my opinion.

So, what are they trying to do? Or, more to the point what do you think that they should do. Nothing? Do you really want that horrible Stacy Abrams from Georgia to have free rein with 2 billion of our tax dollars. Do you? Can you answer a question?

@AverageJoe1 said

Well, given that 25% of the Federal workforce is veterans, I guess they are trying to piss off veterans? 😆

And farmers - trying to piss them off.

That seems like the plan.

What do you think they should do, though? Take the $2 billion that I mentioned that Stacey Abrams in Georgia was given. Marauder recently said that musk is not experienced enough to do what he is doing. Do you think Stacey Abrams is experienced enough to handle $2 billion? I’m just asking, although I know you will not answer that. You never answer anything. You just make un funny quips like sueann does and leave it at that. Weird.

This wish-list brought to you by a sidelined democrat with no purpose. Enjoy it
Substantiation of #2 on my list (follow the links in the article in particular):

https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2025/2/22/2305387/-Republican-Pols-Are-No-Show-At-Western-WI-Farmers-Meeting-Democrats-Were-There

Some excerpts:
Republican Pols Are No Show At Western Wisconsin Farmers Meeting. Democrats Were There.

This may be another canary in the coal mine moment for Republican politicians. The Wisconsin Farmers Union held an event in Chippewa Falls to discuss Trump’s actions with regards to farm policy, and the invited Republican politicians were a no show. No staff were there either. Four Democrats who were invited did show up at the meeting, so they got to listen to all the incoming financial pain that Wisconsin farmers face from the onslaught of Trumponomics.

My spidey sense tells me that the Republicans simply did not want to face the pain and possible wrath of the farmers.

Democrats who showed: U.S. Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Black Earth), state Sen. Jeff Smith (D-Eau Claire) and state Reps. Jodi Emerson (D-Eau Claire) and Christian Phelps (D-Eau Claire).

The list of No Show Republicans: U.S. Reps. Tom Tiffany and Derrick Van Orden, state Reps. Rob Sommerfeld (R-Bloomer), Treig Pronschinske (R-Mondovi) and Clint Moses (R-Mondovi) and state Sens. Jesse James (R-Thorp) and Rob Stafsholt (R-New Richmond).

According to the article, Orden doesn’t even bother to show up for townhalls in that area.

Anyway, it seems the farmers in attendance realize they have a rather long list of financial pain heading their way...

Ah, so THAT explains why he just fired a REALLY great 4 star general as Joint Chief of staff, happens to be black and replacing him with a dodo 3 star with ZERO experience in the top job but he is white and swears loyalty to Trump.
So the purges are already reaching the military.
His violent army of pardoned felons are already giving death threats to judges, threats to them AND their families just like Trump wants.
And you think all that is a GOOD thing.
It is the beginning of the end of democracy here and I think you know it and are complicit in ALL of it.
You WANT democracy to fail, your business will THRIVE kissing up to your coming dictator. We don't quite know just yet whether that dictator will be Trump or the acting president Musk.

Asian flu is/was eggs. So what. Has nothing to do with government management.
Whew. Give us all a break.
The subect of Greenland is on the back burner, plenty to come later. One idea is to give each citizen $1M, which, theoretically, is possible. Again, later. Can't wait!
What is your standing to tell us what is 'enough' money? Curious, indeed.
Why do you ...[text shortened]... ost half the money we gave to them. I would say they need to pay it back. In minerals? Go, Trump.
My reference to eggs (the price of which has been raised in these forums) was in more general reference to the 'cost of living crisis' which people in certain western countries seem to be concerned about at present. Food is still cheap, relatively speaking, and levels of obesity would indicate that people are getting enough of the stuff....This isn't just an American problem, but we're talking about America.

Whoever came up with the bright idea of giving all Greenlanders a million bucks should do a course in basic economics. Nobody's going to be buying Greenland.

What's enough money? That's a good question, but my question was, what is enough debt? Thirty + Trillion dollars (about a third of the worlds' national debt) is quite a lot of money to owe. To bring it down to a domestic level, better not buy a nice new sofa when you're maxed - out on the credit cards.

i don't know what makes you think I'm 'upset' about sources of minerals. (And there's the little insult, you couldn't resist, could you?) I made it quite clear in my post why America has no right to ask for Ukrainian minerals, that's all.

As for being 'holier than thou', I'm not holier than anyone, I don't believe in any God, (I know, shocking, isn't it? ) and as for your 'Go Trump' statement, well that's down to the American people, of course, but if you think Trump should go, then I'm inclined to agree with you. We have common ground, which is a nice way to end the dialogue.

@Soothfast

and you say this like Trump's presidency is galling apart. criminy.
did jolting joe ever have his share of groups that were against him? of course he did.

Same here. All you have basically, is a pocket full of wishful thinking. you best be ready to settle in with it.

I just saw your first line about the woke general. That was enough for me to tell you he was fired for that reason, that he is woke. There are memorandum showing that he wanted to have less white people and more diversification. Are you going to tell me that he should still be working there having made such a horrible, horrible decision? You will not answer this question.
But you do not have to, as by my writing this defeats everything you just said. Chalk me up for another win.

And please don’t tell us what Black has to do with it, because it would fall flat on its face.

I can't think of any progressive, myself included, that had high hopes for Biden's presidency. It was just a relief to have a sane man in the Oval Office again, and not a spray-tanned clown.

Time will tell whether Trump's "presidency" is falling apart. I'm not going to argue with you about what the future holds, as you clearly still have your orange-tinted glasses on.
