The political class. With our huge governments it appears to me that politicians are lining their own pockets.
Here is how it is in the US
In 2015, the most recent year for which Quartz could access this information, the median member of the US Congress was worth at least $1.1 million. That is more than 12 times greater than the net wealth of the median US household.

@eladar saidPutin's wealth is worth noting.
It is much more difficult to find information about politician wealth in Europe. Every country should be required to list the wealth of their politicians.
Evidently Putin is worth 70 billion USD.
He is not an entrepreneur.
He is not a businessman.
He was a KGB hack.
He has pilfered his wealth from the Russian economy, which is less than 10% the size of the US.
Makes one wonder what Trump's game plan is while he is in the White House.
He knows Putin's playbook by now.
And all the white noise he has been creating, extramarital affairs, stirring racism pot, keeping the collusion fiasco going with his Twitter rants, immigration battles.
And turning the global socio political order upside down.
All distractions.
What is he up to in the background ?
We know his brand, his name will be worthless when he leaves office.
What will he go back to ?
What will he take back to private life with him ?
Have fun with this. 😛

Those that hold the power are above the laws of the land. Just look at AOC, the devout socialist who became a millionaire overnight.
Notice Bernie Sanders no longer rails about millionaires, just billionaires now with his sports cars and extra million dollar house by the lake. LOL
LOL,.

@kazetnagorra saidWhy are politician's wealth not readily available on the internet for all to see? I can find US numbers but not European.
Not every European accepts the blatant corruption of politicians like Americans do.
Macron's net worth According to website How-Rich.com, Macron is now worth a whopping $31.5 million (£24,362,100).

@wolfgang59 saidI am not a political leader. Funny how the US is more transparent and less corrupt than Europe. That is saying a lot.
Same reason your wealth isn't readily available I guess.
@kazetnagorra saidLol what a joke.

Find the site where your politicians' wealth is listed. Face it, you do not care if you embrace a corrupt money making machine for the ruling class. We need taxes so our politicians can get rich!

@eladar saidDutch MPs are mandated by law to publicly notify any gifts received and any business interests they might have according to the Wet schadeloosstelling leden Tweede Kamer.
Lol what a joke.

Most of them just have their salary as only income and any journalist would jump at the opportunity to crucify any politician who is perceived as corrupt. Recently the leader of one of the coalition parties was forced to resign because a friend gifted him an apartment. No conflict of interest was determined, but it was perceived as unethical.
