So there was Judith Miller, "Miss Run Amok", as she fancied calling herself, peddling the Bush Administration's fantasies about Iraqi WMD. Her reporting took the lies and distortions of the Office of Special Plans to the people. The NYT editors were so afraid of Judith that they would not edit her columns or fact-check her stories.

What essential liberty are you sacrificing, SQ? Based upon what's written in the forums I doubt that anyone is sacrificing freedom of speech. And perhaps we can find someone on RHP who used to live in East Germany and now lives in the USA to corroborate "...an internal security apparatus that makes East Germany look like Candyland."

I am from West Germany.
Its surely not that hard at the moment but you are on your way.
Besides that your security state comes in secret and until now you can travel freely unless you´re kidnapped from your CIA.

Originally posted by DelmerWell, Delmer, our favorite fascist, I have posted a couple of liberties that we have given up with the Patriot Act (see thread http://www.redhotpawn.com/board/showthread.php?threadid=34902) Now if the government is spying on US citizen without first getting approval from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (ironically, the body that approves survielance on US soil) then your right to privacy has been violated. This is clearly a violation of your rights as a US citizen. The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court is not know to be very tough when being asked to surviel US citizens, so why bypass the process? It is because these gentlemen (and I use the term very loosely) have contempt for US laws. I'll ask you the same question that Bush couldn't answer; Are there any mistakes that this administration has made? You argue with anyone that has anything to say about this administration. So can you tell me something that the Bush administration has done that you don't agree with. There has got to be something. Maybe his policy regarding illegal immigrants or maybe his tax cuts to the ultra-wealthy?

A number of Senators from your own Republican party are outraged by the revelation. Stand up, be a man. Quit being a toady for an administration that cares nothing for you.

You're a fool, CL.

Okay, maybe the fascist was a little harsh, but the rest is accurate. So answer the question.
Originally posted by DelmerWow, that was insightful. So as to the liberties that you have lost?

Hey, Knuckledragger! Lay off my clan leader!
What essential liberty am I sacrificing right now, Del? None, so far as I know. That's not the point. The point is that some American citizens are having their essential liberties compromised. And violatinging the civil liberties of even one American citizen threatens them for us all. Just be ...[text shortened]... m both sides of the political spectrum, may have admitted to the commission of several felonies.
Originally posted by DelmerOnce again, fascist, I will refer you to my thread regarding lost liberties. If it too much for you to read another thread I will post it here.
Well, Fool, I believe you are the one whining about lost liberties. What liberties have you lost?
