Yes, simple improves comprehension. But that's not always good, is it. There are some folks (not you, of course--but a few of the trolls here on RHP: STANG, pjbecker, etc.) who cannot understand the truth. If you make it simple enough that they can understand, it becomes no longer true.
Originally posted by Thequ1ckThis thread is bordering on needing to be transferred to the spiritualality forums, but I will answer your post. Why do you think the 'end-of-days' and God's following 'judgement' have to be a "problem", unless you are a nonbeliever? If one is a true Christian, then the Bible is infallable, though written by man...and yes, we must have faith the authors were God-inspired. I don't know of many God-inspired men/women of the 20th century today. Some examples, in my opinion, are Billy Graham, Rheinhard Bonke, the late Mother Teresa (RIP), the late Norman Vincent Peale (RIP), the late Dr. Martin Luther King (RIP), and every-day people who give to the poor and disenfranchised without thought for personal gain and love people regardless of there sins. True Christians pray for the second coming of Christ to end this wicked world as we know it.. The world will not be physically destroyed in my opinion, but there will be some trials and tribulations to the point that many will think the world is on the brink of self-destruction. These are my thougts only, and in no way do I assert them on anyone here at RHP whether they are believers or nonbelievers....
I think we can agree that there has been no greater work of influence since the bible.
But the bible itself could be fallable in its entirety.
It was passed down through generations by word of mouth. If we are to believe that which is wr ...[text shortened]... ns and armageddon. That's a pretty big problem to me.
This is exactly my point.
Our absolute belief in the bible has led us to believe we are shadows
of our former society where we in fact we have grown.
It leads us to believe that mankind is doomed and once it gets bad
enough 7 riders will come and kill everyone except a scattering of
virgins.
People live their lives by this and it has an influence on how we think
our future should and will be.
We have moved into a new age and guess what? we survived.
The Christian Pisces needs to be updated for us to properly
move forward. Our history needs to be recorded and learnt from.
n.b. I would have posted this in spirituality but it is not really esoteric.
It is a look at how a specific piece of information has shaped the world
and what the options are surrounding its further propagation in a more
up-to-date form.
