Ok, since the early seventies we've been told to worry about an impending Ice Age, nuclear winter, the Jupiter Effect, the China Syndrome, acid rain, the Doomsday Asteroid, the greenhouse effect, African killer bees, ozone depletion, Y2K, SARS, anthrax, global warming again, climate change and bird flu. Oh and an obesity epidemic.

Seems to be the end is always nigh.

Care to make a prediction on the next hobgoblin, once everyone is bored with global warming?

An epidemic of ennui.

You left off immigration -- we are also supposed to be worried about that. It's "destroying our way of life."

George Will had a column a week or so ago that touched on it, altho not quite as severe as that (he discussed voter boredom in the context of Obama worrying Hillary).

Could be. Except the Chinese really are worrying the West. As is Islam. They are not hobgoblins of the imagination.

The gullible masses will never catch on. Besides, we need them to remind us more enlightened ones how bad it can get.

Chemophobia will be the next boogeyman invoked by the left to scare the rest of us into paying higher taxes to support some daft U.N. plan and/or to hamstring America's great economic engine.

Terrorism. But when the solution stimulates the economy it's not a hobgoblin right?

Yes, nothing wrong with unlimited immigration, it's good for everybody involved. Tell that to the people of Malmo, Sweden, where they are reaping the benefits of diversity:

Hey, Santini, although I support adaptation of immigrants to their new
home (and tolerance from the locals to the newcomers)... I don't think
it is very reliable as an argument here to use American Reinassance...
it is... er... uh... how should I put it? A racist pamphlet?

Well, let's put it this way: Not very balanced source 😉

The sources are from Swedish newspapers, are you discounting them because they are repeated on Amren?
