Damn and I was doing so well.
I would do anything not to have jammer as a fellow countryman.
Here's a tip for those venturing to England .. eat before you go.
If you want to start a diet, England would be the perfect place to stay a month.
Impossible not to lost 20 lbs.
Another thing .. don't get a toothache, you won't find a dentist .. from the looks of the locals, maybe 2 in the whole of London.
Floss? fugetaboutit .. they use their fingers .. and they fit between their teeth too.
Bucktoothed mumblers mostly.
Oh, and don't forget your stick .. jam it up your arse before you speak. They won't pick up that your American that way.

They're the ones who look as if they could afford to lose at least 20 lbs.

Greg is a very reliable journalist.
However, there is something much much more deep that some of my
U.S. friends will not like to hear, but...
Democrats and Republicans in the U.S. (at least in the mid and high
levels) are exactly the same thing, so it's no big deal who
is in the White House. Ideologically they are the same, also socially,
economically, culturally and spiritually speaking.
Period.
politics is way too corrupt...
don't have any proof of this corruption, but me, and a growing majority of people, are seeing it in an almost unprecedented level
the peak of corruption in humanity was in the Catholic Church in the Middle Ages, but my country's (america) politics are catching up...
if you want to disregard this idea for lack of proof, that's fine, I'm just stating my summarized observations

It's time for a revolution, not against dems or republicalns but against the system any takers? 😀
the Constitution garuntees us the right to bear arms and overthrow the government when it need be
in the america we live in today, particularly moral decay issues amongst politicians, wealthy CEOs, etc...
we need a dramatic reform...
I recently withdrew support for the Republican Party
just as corrupt as my biased mind saw the democrats to be
an overhaul is in order...
the American people just need another George Washington figure to stand up and lead us...

Some excellent points in this thread Seitse. As well as Rupert Murdoch, I know Exxon-Mobil and Microsoft support and influence both parties.

It must really sit well with you that your ancestors come from this terrible place and our genes are in your body.
I've never been to the States but i was thinking of visiting. Maybe even buying a place now your property market is in tatters.
Anywhere you recommend?
The track.
Are our elections rigged?
Does your vote even count?
...............
It's basicly a nihilist POV that is posed by the OP.
A spineless "I give up" attitude.
An excuse not to try.
Misery begging for company.
Opts out of any personal responsibilty.
"Evidence" that you should give up and join this legion of losers.
A good reason to stay high and do whatever you feel like doing .. 'cause, what the hell! you don't count and nothing you can do will ever change that fact.
Just kill yourself or better yet, lay down, roll over and spread 'em .. Big Brother will serve you now.
Life is hard, it ain't "fair", so quit.

GB is a terrible place to visit, but not a terrible place.
Our # 1 ally, wouldn't know by it from reading this forum, but still true.
My ancestors are mostly Irish, if not for whiskey we'd rule the World by now.

When the chips are down I think that most Brits realise that its the US who we would prefer to cover our backs. With the USSR as no longer such a threat, I think that is easier for us to take an anti US stance.
It is easy to forget the number of times the US have backed us.
We would have had to agree peace with Germany on their terms had not the US escorted our convoys across the atlantic. Lend lease was at a time when it looked as if our empire was bankrupt. The US poured resouces into Europe/Africa first despite the Japs being their aggressors.
Argentina was a very important US ally at the time of the Falklands, yet the US gave us loads of intel and sidewinder missiles.
Although I believe Iraq to be a huge mistake, Blair has got at least one excuse: US are going in and we have to show support. I have been dissappointed that Blair has not used his influence enough to change a bad decision into a good one. If Iraq could have been an example of a democratic muslim state; it would have proved me wrong.
Apart from Suez, USA backed us everytime. Compare that to the French, who stitch us up on a regular basis.
I am guilty of being anti Bush in most of my posts, but often it is to provoke a reaction. Sorry but i love an argument.
