Most of us here have given up on Bush too.
It was an honorable plan .. bring democracy to the Irauqi people as a gift from the free world. Would have worked too IMO if a few other Countries had pitched in with help. Would have helped if the UN had any sort of resolve or backbone. Would have helped a lot more if the Left hadn't worked so hard and successfully against it.
So much for the Iraqui people, an entire Nation of people thrown to the wolves.
Bagdad burns as the UN fiddles, France diddles, and the Left simply dribbles hate for Bush at the cost of many many lives.
Only pawns in the game. The game of Nations .. and self-interest.
The Iraqui phase of the war on terror is almost over now .. a stalemate IMO. Terrorism itself isn't going away for a long time though and must still be dealt with on a daily basis.
We'll be attacked again.
You'll be attacked again too.
We're alone in this fight, but we will prevail.

I was thinking at the time that America will have to do this on their own. After the non response to 7/7 from the Brits, it is now an absolute that we will.
This aint "The 300". The Persians aint winning this one.

Democrats and Republicans in the U.S. (at least in the mid and high
levels) are exactly the [b]same thing, so it's no big deal who
is in the White House. Ideologically they are the same, also socially,
economically, culturally and spiritually speaking.

Sadly there is a large anti US sentiment in UK, but at the end of the day it is only a trend.
When the chips are down I think that most Brits realise that its the US who we would prefer to cover our backs. With the USSR as no longer such a threat, I think that is easier for us to take an anti US stance.
It is easy to forget the number of times t ...[text shortened]... i Bush in most of my posts, but often it is to provoke a reaction. Sorry but i love an argument.
and yes, i think most of the world hate the bloody French...
they beg our support in both world wars and then piss on us when we try to fight terrorism...
provided, we are not in Iraq for 9/11 or terrorism...
it's all about oil
and anyone who opposes that statement is off their rocker

yeah, the democratic Iraq idea would have worked with support from more than Britain
what the heck were you expecting?
the UN is a huge organization with the mision of wasting as many human resources, time, and effort as quickly as possible...
the UN has no purpose, no power...
don't blame the Left
in politics, they are just like the Rights...
someone in one of the threads mentioned that the Lefts just took the war's failure as a chance to bash on the other side...
politicians are driven by money and grants from CEOs, not by morals and ideals
we will be attacked, unless someone goes back in time and shoots Muhammed while he was in the cave...
but that's a different thread altogether...

It's the truth!
I've just read Greg Palast's "Armed madhouse" and it's quite an eye opener. Not just facts and figures, but he actually prints the documents he gets handed, just to make sure people don't doubt what he's on about.

Theoretically other parties that are not pro-capitalist can exist in the US, but because only those with big money from Big Business have any kind of audible voice in US "democracy" such parties are powerless to get their message out. In effect the tyranny of private capital (where the real power lies -- not the government) ensures a one-party system as rigid and dogmatic as the Soviet system that countenanced only the Communist party. Indeed it's common practice for corporations to give campaign donations to both the Democrats and Republicans simultaneously so that no matter who wins they're "owned".
he's right.

Minority parties are minority parties because they don't have a broad appeal. When something better comes along, a major party because a minor party. Ask the Whigs.
