I don't know about this particularly, but French strikers are known to be violent at times.
French can't go a week without some strike or another.

Those mean old working people are making such unfair demands as accountability, paying ones fair share in taxes, and maybe even (dare I say it...) some productive work now and the ...[text shortened]... s really in charge. Tell the butler to pack my 6 diamond bracelets! LIFE...IS UNBEARABLE!!:'(
You are again going after the wrong people, it is those that write the
rules that are to blame. People are just people, if you work your butt
off and get rich good for you that doesn't make you evil any more than
someone who works his butt off for an employer is some how more
righteous! What should be sticking you mind is that things like that
Sen Dodd who was getting a lot of money from people, acted so that
those people he was getting money from would get over! You should
be upset that many of those people were being told to give by people
in authority over them!

I agree accountablity is the bottom line, but who do we hold to account
those that are following the rules or those that are supposed to be
writting them for us?

Have you ever heard the concept " part time job"? Grow up, get a job and start contributing to society. How much longer do you plan on being a student?

It's people like me who created that thing you're sitting behind now. Besides, I think a Finnish employer would prefer someone who actually speaks Finnish.

You're not creating anything. You're a student. You're being irresponsible by not working and living off the system. How much Finnish do you need to speak to wash dishes. Speak English then. Where Do you get your every day spending money?

This is a phony dichotomy. That the rich run the government in the US is a given. But that shouldn't make them objects of sympathy when the government, in response to overwhelming popular demand, insist that something be done to stop them from the further theft of society's resources done to the detriment of the rest of its members.

When I see you supporting policies that attempt to rein in the power of the wealthy elite, I'll take you seriously. So long as you keep spouting obvious nonsense about how "unfair" the AIG clowns were treated, I can only laugh at your foolishness.

You don't know what you are talking about. AIG didn't, and indeed still hasn't, revealed which employees were getting these ridiculous "retention payments" and their full extent. The idea that a bankrupt company would pay out $153 million in bonuses (to be paid from taxpayer money) probably never crossed anybody's mind. Such payments were never authorized by any law; all that the new law did was set a cap on bonuses in the future. You'll have to produce some evidence that the Congress or the President knew about said bonuses; I know the President has explicitly said he didn't. Do you have some proof that he is lying?

The idea that someone else is at fault for the greedy, incompetent AIG scumbags arranging to give them themselves $153 million in bonuses is the type of bizarre "thinking" that right wingers use. It is, of course, senseless.

No, I'm investing in my future by studying, which will help society since physics is the foundation of all modern technology. This is already a full-time job and I don't see why I should take an additional part-time job. Your attempt at showing hypocricy in my viewpoints is quite pathetic, really.

If you're capable of working you should have some kind of job, now. Your hypocrisy is evident to all. I couldn't imagine Not having a part time job when i was your age going to school. What about during summer break, do you work then? Have you ever had a Paying job?

Why do you believe anyone who is capable of working (more) should? I surely don't believe so, nor have I ever stated I do. I work 40 hours per week, but don't get paid yet. I don't see anything wrong with that.

All the posts regarding KN's personal circumstances are off-topic and should be removed. There are a lot of people here who constantly degrade the Debates Forum into this type of attacks on the personal lives of a poster; it would be nice if this tactic met with the condemnation it deserves as well as, if necessary, appropriate forum bans.

This post is also off-topic. You should refrain from this ridiculous discussion in this thread; if debating your personal circumstances is sooooooooooooooooo important to you, Granny and generalissmo, you should start another thread.

Yes, I agree, I will no longer comment on it.
