the media in america is now asking the world to confess it's enviromental "sins".
the horror of france.
france supplies 70 percent of it's energy with nuclear energy.
so, france, for the sake of it's socialist cheese and wine is stockpiling
nuclear waste in stacks around france, risking the irridiation of europe's air and water !
france, what an ugly enviromental socialist monster !
think about fukushima and chernobyl !
france, who sits around smugly telling the world what to do.
seventy-percent !
hypocrites. socialist hypocrites.
@kazetnagorra saidI don't agree with Moggy's oversimplification of France's energy system, but it does contain a few grains of truth. Nuclear waste is a byproduct of nuclear energy production. There is no way one could argue nuclear energy production is environmentally safe.
Nuclear power is environmentally friendly. Nuclear waste does not realistically risk the quality of air or the water supply. No hypocrisy here.
@mchill saidThere is a way to argue it's environmentally friendly and I'm arguing it.

Or are you just being trailer park stupid ?
Never mind. Forget I asked. 😛

@mchill saidNothing is ‘safe’ if you want safe crush every single car and nobody is allowed matches.

But nuclear energy is very environmentally friendly in comparison to fossil fuels. I’m sure technology will give us the ability to dispose of this waste product in a safe and neutral manner long before its storage becomes an intractable issue. Big oil spills can be an environmental catastrophe, as are the chemical waste products of industry in general. Carbon / fossil burning based energy does not require an accident to become an environmental catastrophe, it just is.
@mchill saidIt's fairly straightforward to safely store nuclear waste.
