Monopoly is a good analogy, since everyone starts out with the same amount of money and the rules don't change mid-game.

At that point it's just about luck.

The entire point is that the Trump tax cuts changed the game to favor wealthy people, allowing them to avoid paying taxes that normal folks have to pay. People who already have a ton of money get to use a stacked deck of Chance cards while the rest of us have to pay income tax. Yes, I call that cheating.
No argument, that there are tax cheats. There are also people who have inherited all of their wealth. There are also people who take advantage of tax breaks. Are you thus suggesting that we zero in on all those scalawags who are getting this free ride… that, we change all of the tax structure to rein them in, and upset other Apple carts in the process by doing so?
You guys really hate rich people. You dwell on it. When they have nothing to do with you.

No one's hunting anyone who pays their taxes legally.
Then, simply, you find fault only with people who cheat on taxes. Sorry, I missed that. Then I agree with you, throw them in jail. I also don’t like bank robbers, throw them in jail. I don’t get the issue then. Why don’t you just say jail the tax cheats?
Remember, all tax laws were passed by a Congress full of Republicans and Democrats. Now is a great example for me to point out that if the Democrats had lost such a vote, they might not have, if the Repubs had been required to have 2/3 of the majority. Now you see my point. Major decisions should be decided by more than 51%.
Thank you very much.

Your logic makes no sense. This isn't a Biden thread

Deficit in 2016: $587 billion
Deficit in 2019: $987 billion

Trump deficit spending was way worse than Obama. Maybe you feel you gotta add Biden to the mix to make trump look better, but that's beside the point I was making. Not only did trump fail to deliver on reducing deficit spending, he made the problem way wor ...[text shortened]... s his excuse for adding $7.8 trillion to the deficit instead? Have any of his voters ever asked him?
A letter to wild grass. Dear wild grass,; let’s say we are all in agreement on the tremendous debt and deficit etc. etc. We are where we are. Damn that Obamacare and damn trumps spending. So starting today is the first day of the rest of our lives, how about if Biden starts to rein in spending. Do you think I should start a thread on that.?

Un-dear Joe: let's not be as hypocritical as you Republicans want us to be.

Historically, over the past 40 years, that's exactly what has happened. Republicans spend huge gobs of tax dollars propping up failed business models, then Democrats have to clean up the mess left by the GOP. In this case the trump administration left an upper decker in the toilet and that might take some time to clean up. Vote Democrat if you're a fiscal conservative.

I don't discriminate when it comes to tax cheats, rich, middle class, poor. Cheat the IRS anywhere, anyway, anytime you can.

If you're a fiscal conservative give them less to spend.

OK. Let's not be hypocritical. Now, How about Biden start reining in spending, maybe starting with not paying off loans owed by citizens. Have them pay off the loans they agreed to, and start turning the deficit around. Good idea?

@AverageJoe1
I have ZERO doubt WHEN trump IS convicted of a crime your reply will just be CORRUPT JUDGES, KANGAROO COURT.
That is a solid prediction. Call it a prophecy even.

I would just look at the facts. Not opinions of a judge, just the facts. If you were a Judge on the panel, you would naturally vote to convict for personal reasons of hating his guts. I would say, Sonhouse, you are not deciding on the facts.....you are deciding on his elevator ride when he announced back in '16.
So if he is found guilty, you and I can discuss the facts, can we not? Some of the weenies on this Forum don't like his orange hair. Me, I dont like his personality. So, we get beyond frivolity and discuss the facts. See you then!

Edit: You didnt answer about whether Biden should stop adding to the deficit. What do you think? And, do you think Rich people should make a world for people to prosper in, or is that the government's job ?

It's a fun thing to think, 8th grade logic.

Fiscal conservatism is about spending, not taxes. There's actually no disincentive politically for spending like Trump did when he doesn't even have the money. He campaigned on eliminating deficits. Then, he literally doubled Obama's deficits in less than a year. There was no situational or strategic reason to do this, he just wanted to hand out a bunch of tax dollars to rich people.

They don't like the F word however it is misspelled.
I made a point, Trump is not your President. He is your RELIGION and you defend him JUST LIKE CHRISTIANS ARE TAUGHT TO FIGHT AGAINST ENEMIES OF CHRISTIANITY.
He couldn't keep an AIRLINE going, that failed, you probably didn't even KNOW he used to own an airline, and he couldn't even keep a frigging CASINO from bankruptcy because he ran it into the ground.
And his OBVIOUS criminal behavior over decades.
I bet you don't want to even THINK about the TWO proven fraud cases he managed not to go to jail over but had to pay 25 MILLION in restitution to the THOUSAND he chiseled out of millions in his Trump "University'' and his Trump 'charity'.
Both shut down by the government but I would correctly assume YOU would just call that a political hit job, just another get Trump attack based on nothing but fake evidence.
Just admit it, he is your new Rastafarian religion, but not Selassie, YOUR god is TRUMP.

I sincerely hope it doesn't take all the way to 8th grade for children to realise the less money they have to spend means they have less money to spend.

Trump, Biden and Odumba spent more in these last few terms than the entire history of the US. Trying to figure out who's the worst (clue: one of the seven dwarves) as if that makes the other two better is 8th grade stuff.

No. These things come with numbers and statistics so we can in fact determine who is worse. When voted in as President, one political party, quantifiably and reliably, increases deficit spending. The other party decreases it. That has happened consistently for 40 years. For the kids out there, deficit spending is spending money that you don't have.
