Another one I see. The fact remains that even the then leader of the Labour Party, Kinnock, told Scargill at a Labour Conference that he had wrecked the coal industry 'single-handed'.
I think you'll find that Kinnock was critical of Scargill's handling of the strike, not the strike itself. And you'll also find that Scargill is critical of Kinnock's lack of support for the strike.
Of course, if Scargill hadn't implemented a strike and left the way clear for Thatcher, then I'm sure she would have taken care of the coal industry just fine.
