The most effective way to deal with strikers threatening national repercussions is to emulate the action of Ronald Reagan in 1981 when he sacked thousands of striking air traffic contollers who refused to return to work, and that of Margaret Thatcher who faced up to bully-boy Scargill whose intransigence led to the destruction of the British coal industry in 1985.

I wonder if there were negative consequences due to having second rate air traffic controllers.

Yeah, and we all know how a great president that imbecile Parkinsonian
cuckold and second-class-actor was.

The "he ended the Cold War without firing a shot" has SOME merit to it, though he's given way too much credit by the Right.

Is that the best you can do? You sound pretty feeble and second-rate yourself.

Scargill's intransigence led to the destruction of the British coal industry?!!?
You're talking out your a#$e.
Thatcher was the most divisive Prime Minister in recent history and I hope she dies a slow, painful, lonely death.

The kind people
Have a wonderful dream
Margaret On The Guillotine
Cause people like you
Make me feel so tired
When will you die ?
When will you die ?
When will you die ?
When will you die ?
When will you die ?

And people like you
Make me feel so old inside
Please die

And kind people
Do not shelter this dream
Make it real
Make the dream real
Make the dream real
Make it real
Make the dream real

Coming from where you apparently do fully accounts for your views. What do you know about it?

Since you don't seem to have a flag up indicating your country of origin, nobody can make ignorant pre-judgements based on your nationality as a 'contribution' to this discussion. Which must be convenient for you.

Another one I see. The fact remains that even the then leader of the Labour Party, Kinnock, told Scargill at a Labour Conference that he had wrecked the coal industry 'single-handed'.
