The U.N. often does not have the miltary threat to enforce its desires.

But a different issue is much more important to the U.N's long term power ... does the U.N. reliably have the moral high ground?

Does the U.N. make sensible decisions for the good of everyone?

They don't really have anything to gain by not making sensible decisions for the good of everyone.

The trouble is that their decisions are futile.

i just wonder what you think is a worthwhile organisation that does not have bias towards any particular country(s)?

the un is not perfect, nothing is perfect, it is always possible to be negative about anything. such negative activity is of no interest to anyone who has a care about the future.

an important process is to find ways to improve the best that we have. this process is all the more vital if the best we have is very poor.

the point you raise is disturbingly relevant to many similar organisations.

unfortunately the u.n. may have something to gain ... any organisation which owes the u.n. a large sum of money will be put on a special list which the u.n. cannot afford to alienate itself from to excessively great degree.

are there any organisations owing a great sum to the u.n.?
