Those hostages are long dead or gone through so much they are better off dead.
Negotiation with the enemy over hostages will always give them that tactic to use in the future.
Hostages are often better off left for dead in these circumstances unless there is a way to get them back without further death as was the case of the Entebbe Raid in Uganda.
