Do you know that the US has not opened a new oil processing facility in over 20 years?

That no new nuclear facilities have been opened since 3 Mile Island?

The US is caught between overseas thieves and terrorists and the NIMBY (not in my back yard) environmentalists.

The US has the ability to provide enough natural resources for itself. It's time to start doing it ourselves.

We should produce at least enough so that OPEC no longer dictates the cost. We have plenty of resources, oil, coal, nuclear. And we have the technology to keep it safer than ever before.

I wonder if the wack-o-environmentalist aren't oil sheiks in disguise. 😉

For our part of the problem if every new vehicle were required to be a hybrid that would just about solve the problem. But another emerging problem around oil dependence is China. They are growing so rapidly that there is tremendous demand for increased consumption there.

I wish the middle ground could be acheived. Conservation, some oil exploration, improved gas mileage requirements, tax breaks for alternative energy, improvements in Venezuela. A bit of everything rather than Bush's drill, but no incentives for conservation, and the democrats conservation, but no drilling. It kind of sucks that our country is so polarized.
