Bed bugs are most active during a five-hour period overnight – between 12am and 5am. That's no accident – we're likely to be in deep sleep, and less likely to wake and interrupt feeding.
However, you don't have to be sleeping close to their borrows to be bitten – the bugs will wander several metres during the night in search of a host.
Bed bugs around the world are developing resistance to insecticides, and infestations are making headlines. How do we deal with them?
My God!
Seriously. They wander from their lairs, feed on you and are nigh on becoming unkillable!
I’ve slept in some serious dives in my time, but never have I encountered one of these bugs.
Have you?
What can we do about them.
Don’t panic!!!

If you check into the best hotels in NYC, though, you are taking your skin into your own hands.
@shavixmir saidWhat can you do about them? Sleep on either a waterbed or a bed of nails. They can’t hide in either one. π

@moonbus saidWell, I’ve seen videos of these bed bugs on the Paris Metro. And seemingly they weren’r bed bugs. My guess is that they were subway bugs instead. Although, I ain’t no bug specialist.

Seemingly, from what I’ve read, they have some sort of lair (see OP) where they wander from… meters a night… to suck on some human juice.
That scares the bejesus outta me. Basically, a human is then just a snoring sack of bed bug feed.
Now, translated from a Dutch site:
Tiny red or black stains in your bed is probably bed bug faeces.
Jesus! Is that why bed sheets are generally white?
And bed bug lairs are generally in the wood of the bed or the wood of the night stand or cupboard next to the bed…
I’m getting itchy just reading about them.

@shavixmir saidI have worked in hotels for the last 14 years and know how they can be killed off . They are sensitive to high heat , not seriously hot though . Many hotels have the machine to accomplish this .
