@Cliff-Mashburn saidya, that author needs to go back to writing school. Granted, the kid didn't put much effort into it though.... 😆

@Cliff-Mashburn saidDo they say the name of this book or which school he goes to? My guess is no. Until shown otherwise, it's a safe bet these parents are liars forcing their kid to do this.

There's a reason why Cliff doesn't post links to actual news sources and only garbage he finds on YouTube; it's because not a single thing he believes is something provable based on fact.
@Cliff-Mashburn saidWhy don't they say the name of the book or the school district in the video?

@vivify saidIf that's the case, then why didn't the school deny that it was a library book?

@Cliff-Mashburn saidWhat school? What book?

@wildgrass saidTook me 10 seconds to find it.
What school? What book?
Or are you going to claim this news story was fake too?

@Cliff-Mashburn saidThank you.
Here are the answers to all your questions:

The link says that book is for readers 18 and over. No one disagrees such books should not be provided to children.
But your thread title is about banning books in general. Using a book *not meant for minors* as justification for book banning is stupid.
Please use links in the future so it takes less time to refute you.

@vivify saidBut they WERE supplying it for minors. He was 11 and it was in his middle school in Maine.
Thank you.

THOSE are the books they want banned in schools, not "books in general" as you try to infer that my title meant.
You didn't refute anything.
@Cliff-Mashburn saidSo you're only against banning LGBT books meant for adults, not the ones specifically made for children. Right?

@Cliff-Mashburn saidThanks. The follow up to the story is that it went to a ballot initiative and the people voted to keep the book available for adults.

That is the right way to handle it.
In Florida they had a roomful of government bureaucrats combing through maths textbooks s and banning hundreds of books without any public discussion for obscure references to race and climate change.
That is the wrong way to handle it.
