There are people and groups of people that still dissagree mightly on a variety of subjects concerning politics, religion and how things should be done at this website and others. However, I think one thing all parties can agree on is that the bickering is getting very old and unbecoming. Perhaps we could further agree that all parties have said and/or done things that we would not have if cooler heads had prevailed. Most importantly though, we should agree to dissagree!! I still have objections to many of the things Ivan has posted, as he has objections to the things I have posted, I'm sure.
As under 13's are no longer allowed here we cannot hide behind the possibility that we are just to young to know better than this. This argument will progress to nothing positive, we need to just stop. So, forget about getting the last word in, forget about any points you have made that have been mis-represented, and stop...just stop.
Go back to debating topics for which there can be no middle ground and driving yourselves crazy with how difficult it is to debate someone into a corner. If nothing else, it is an excellent excercise for your brain, whcih is far more than can be said for what has been happening lately.
If you agree with the sentiments expressed in this message please post in this thread saying so. Your post will be considered your promise that you will let the matter drop. Your word is all I can ask for and in spite of the disagreements we all have, I have enough respect for any one of you to believe that you take your promises seriously.
This does not constitute an apology or an admission that you have been wrong in any way. Although you may apologise if you wish, of course.
As for my part...I wish to apologize for breaking my personal oath to stop posting on this matter. I made excellent points and still believe all of my statemts to be correct and justified. However statements made in a stupid argument are stupid no matter how correct and justified they are. I am a complete arse...(I have been wanting to use arse for a long time) 😉

I am willing to concur in the sense that I refute the rash of debates regarding how this site is to be run. Constructive criticism and friendly suggestions are great, but I do believe that it has gone way overboard. Discussions about the site have reminded me of a Jerry Springer show lately.
The politics and religion I, personally, can deal with. I have always had a good time pulling my hair out debating with Rob and Bennet, and I consider myself fortunate to argue with the best. I will however note that there are certain "instances" of people who, shall we say, are a bit too vehement with their views, to the point of dragging the discussion down into unproductive and unenjoyable bickering. This, I am having a hard time swallowing. One users beef with another is dragged into countless threads, sometimes completely changing the topic.
While I can't honestly say I am posting here to support a "movement" (protest, plea, whatever you want to call it), I would like to voice myself to say that I have been coming to the forums looking for a good discussion for almost two years now, but I find myself coming much less now because I dislike the atmosphere in here anymore. I want to go back to the good old days. I want to go back to being the "radical Bible thumper" having witty banter with agnostics, aetheists, etc. often heated, and sometimes even comical. I miss the way it used to be. Then, atleast, even if someone was 110% against what I had to say and felt very passionately about it, I still felt like my points were respected, and I didn't worry about our heated debate in that one thread spilling over into dozens of others for no logical reason.
Let's get our heads out of our asinines. 😉
