Just collecting opinions here: How much time do you spend watching TV shows with its main focus on politics such as MSNBC, FOX News or CNN? For myself I watch 30 min. each of FOX News and MSNBC, M-F then home improvement shows such a rehab addict only on the weekends (partially because I learn DIY stuff, but mostly because Nicole Curtis is a blonde hottie!) 😀

What about the rest of you - Do you spend much time watching political TV?

During the 2016 primary and election I watched about 4-6 hours a day!

Now I only go by the debates forum and YouTube recommended videos.

Come election time I will be glued to the TV.

Do you watch Access Hollywood reruns ? 😛

No I've never been the type to watch celebrities just to see what they are doing.

"Superstar takes African adopted kids to the pool"

Who cares? 😐

We don’t have cable so that leaves out msnbc, cnn, Fox News, etc. We have an antenna in the attic for abc, cbs, nbc, pbs, some bbc, etc. We listen to versions of these on radio KQED (pbs, npr, bbc,) far more than we watch tv. Mostly we get news and analysis and interviews which can include interviews of people with political agendas.

Good Post. My take is, some, such as The Five on Fox, are entertaining, but cable news is mostly opinion, what people think, what they speculate. They are well-informed, but with the advent of Fake news etc, informed with WHAT? All this water, but not a drop to drink.

Anyway, a lot of the threads I end up in are economy-based, corporate greed, Trump obsession, etc., so I find the Business News channels to be the most enlightening, most helpful with daily planning and getting more factual information. I've made life decisions on little snippets heard there, where my time was better spent, than were I watching whether Mueller or Trump are going to the hangman. If it happens, it happens...... I will be more prepared if it does!!!!

Well I could turn on CNN or Fox News but it is kinda like watching a soap opera.

You could miss 30 years of your favorite soup but then come back and pick it up again and it's like nothing ever has changed..................

On average probably about 5 minutes a week. I rarely watch the shows, never complete shows.

It's all biased.

So let's say a news channel never provides their opinion. Just the stories they choose to cover and choose to ignore demonstrates their bias.

The coverage of the abortionist Gosnell is but one example. Here we had the biggest mass murderer in US history as an abortion doctor and not one member of the press showed up to cover it.

This bears out the old belief in paper business..."If it bleeds, it leads". They dont do stories that dont sell papers. That is probably why papers like the Times made stuff up, to get people talking, not only about the story but about the paper itself!

We do all need to get SOME news, may I recommend Lou Dobbs on Fox Business channel, at 7 Eastern. Solid. (spoiler alert, leans right...but facts are right on)
