"The first car was 1871, the initial power plants in the early 1900's. The massive glaciers covering the Northern US and parts of Europe were long gone thousands of years prior.
Do you think something in nature was going on that made the glaciers melt before all of these carbon emitting man-made things appeared?"
@AverageJoe
Why don't you tell us since you seem to have a Phd in atmosphere science.
I guess it is just weather to you that it is getting over 100 degrees F all over Europe and wildfires spreading like covid over the whole planet. California having water police now, just weather and in a couple of years the ice caps will come back because you KNOW it is only temporary, right?
@sonhouse saidIt gets hot in the middle of summer? Tell me it isn't so!

That is called weather, not climate change.
Do you know what else? It gets cold in the middle of winter. Really!
The earth has been warming before the first automobile was made.
That was from natural causes.

But I'll add this for your benefit.....
The glaciers went away just before the dinosaurs showed up. 😆😆
@mghrn55
Wrong. The earth has had a few ice ages and the last one was relatively recent.
The last glacial period began about 100,000 years ago and lasted until 25,000 years ago. Today we are in a warm interglacial period.
5 or 6 ice ages shows the earth goes up and down in temperature. We can't stop it.
That's called weather...
This shouldn't be a political issue,
there is undeniable fact, the planet is getting warmer.
Why do some insist on a poorer quality of life for our children?
Have I ever heard the expression, 'dumbing down' on this site.
This is a matter of SCIENTIFIC FACT.................
The temperature in the last
DECADE IS THE HOTTEST IN RECORDED HISTORY,
even the less intelligent of the thousands of
meteorologists and climatologists ALL AGREE,
THE PLANET IS GETTING WARMER, FASTER
THAN SPECIES ARE ABLE TO ADAPT....
Our children will ask, ''Why didn't they do anything?''

@beowulf saidOh, a 'what if?'
I wonder what the climate freaks would be saying if we were going into another ice age 🤔
Well, they would likely be telling you
that we're entering an 'ice age' period.
Have you heard that REPORTED ANYWHERE?
Hey, 'what if,' my Aunt had testicles?
Know what? I'd would call her my Uncle 😉
@beowulf saidCorrect. About 5 ice ages in the last million years.

My thoughts on major contributors to climate change.
Variations in Sun's energy output and volcanic activity.
Add to that human activity.
This is still a stupid thread.
As an additional thought, a few months back I had the occasion to drive a Ford F150 for a couple of days, not my choice.
I can not see any compelling reason to ever be behind the wheel of a vehicle like that.
For all those out there obsessively bent on acquiring such a vehicle, I can only say this.
Just go out and get a penis enlargement. And probably save some money. 🤣🤣
