Yes, we have yet another Obama appointee who does not pay his taxes. In fact, it was $120,000 worth of back taxes. However, like Geithner he apologized and like Geithner he will get appointed under Obama.

Edit: No wonder Democrats vote for higher taxes. After all, they don't pay'em!! If I could I would throw my shoes at these people!!!

Unlike Geithner, Daschle should be cut loose in favor of someone else. Geither's amount was not remotely $120,000 and was (in my opnion) understandable. This is not.

Democrats and Republicans sooner or later will have to vote for higher taxes, that's just the economic reality. Gotta pay the piper sooner or later. Bush's 'tax cuts' - and anyone else that proposes 'tax cuts' - are just instilling a spending measure. They'll spend what they spend and someone has to pay.

Really, the inability of Congress and most of the American people to grasp simple money concepts is appalling.

I am just waiting to see some outrage out there. Where is the outrage with everything that is going on in Washington?

I think all that is needed is for every man and woman in America to take the Tom Dashcle approach next tax season. Then stand back and watch the hilarity ensue.

All this talk about paying ones "fair share" is a joke. Fair share of what, pork that is being billed as an economic stimulus? Is it bailing out corporations like AIG and GM? The less money that goes into Washington the better off we will all be. If this means watching the country fall to its knees and collapse then so be it!! The way we are headed, there it will be inevitable anyhow. We might as well get this show on the road!!

What is appalling is the corruption within Washington and Wall Street. What is even more appalling is the indifference of the American tax payer and the voting record of those voting these thieves back into office.

Agreed all the way around.

But you've got the greatest free press and media in the world, haven't you? How do you explain the ignorance and numbness and impotence?

Maybe we should send Tom on a hunting trip with Dick Cheney. Dick might just have another shotgun malfunction!😏

So then you are conceding that, say, Europeans, for example, may well know more about world and have a better understanding of current affairs than Americans who are, after all, reliant on what you describe mockingly as "the best free press [...] money can buy"?

Fortunately there's a lot to choose.

Daschle has removed his name, the politically expedient thing to do. Plus it allows Obama to save face. Gotta love politicking.
