Do we remember Oliver North? He had a huge hand in selling arms and WMD to the Iraqi regime in the 80's during the Reagan era and also George senior's reign. The US was at odds with Iran at the time, and it all followed the same political BS that we're seeing now. Lies and deception. That's the only reason George dub brought up the WMD in the first place.

The Republicans are really digging their own mass grave every time they talk about how "catastrophic" losing the war in Iraq would be. The longer they identify themselves with that, the more ridiculous they look and the more they ratchet up the political damage they'll suffer when the withdrawal is finally okayed.
