I agree Congress should step in as do the libertarians at Reason:

"Rather than providing relief in the form of a new or renewed injunction, the appeals court has effectively said that Trump is illegally taxing nearly all imports into the country and that Americans will have to continue paying those taxes while the rest of the legal process plays out.

Your statements don’t compute.

You state Trump tariffs are illegal then go on to acknowledge the economic emergency.
Trump does have authority on tariffs in an emergency.

Neither statement is true.

What the article acknowledged is that Trump declared an emergency, not that that declaration was legally valid.

And what the Court decided was that even if there was an emergency, Trump doesn't have the authority under the law he claimed, the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, to impose tariffs (the law doesn't mention the word "tariffs" or anything similar).

I will say this.....I amnot disappointed in Trump, re the court ruling on Tariffs yesterday, I am disappointed that congress did not 'keep up' with his policies and make his tariff actions official…..get behind him. They sat on their hands and had not figured on this. Now they will have to all get together and settle it there, so we won't have a few judges finding his a ...[text shortened]... ements legal. We have to have fair tariffs. You libs want 'fair'?? It does not seem that you do.
So you can't wait till recession hits because of his reckless tariffs. Trump claims they took in 100 billion, that the US is 100 billion richer. But that is a lie, they may see 100 billion but since the money came from Americans and American people the country went DOWN 100 billion and now Trump has 100 billion to play with.

I am of a practical nature. Have a Zoom call of all affected nations, AI would participate, to simply have one formula or one set of ‘tariff charges” that would be fair to every country. I am not saying they would be agreeable to every country, but if it is fair, how can anyone object to setting those parameters.

Let’s say it would take 10 days for every country to submit true and correct data, which altogether would be provided to AI. We would ask AI the question, and probably within 10 seconds have an answer.

I sense holes in your thinking.

However, be that as it may, maybe he lied maybe he didn’t, I suggest the zoom meeting that I mentioned above, and with that we can all stop looking back at who said what to whom we will have a fair tariff process, and everyone will be happy. If they’re not happy, they will still be fair.

For someone who seldom actually thinks, you are doomed to failure when you cannot understand what tariffs did to the US during the depression. It is well known those tariffs started a global tariff war that made the depression much worse.
Oh, forgive me, I forgot, these are not the same times. So money flow back then is different from money flow today? Back then a century ago, maybe you pay 200 bucks for a car and now you are lucky to get away with getting one for 20 thousands so about a 100X difference but we make 100X more so the strength of money is variable and the same effects will come in to play here when companies are forced to close for lack of costumers and the loss of jobs that will entail.
So when the economy starts to really tank as a direct result of tariffs don't come crying to me about how wrong you were.

A gold piece back then bought a nice suit. A nice suit now,,,,costs a gold piece. L School tuititon in 65? $190/quarter. now, abut $10k. I would hardly get into a protracted discussion of the change of the dollar over decades.
Here and now, we have economists all over the board, I have not heard one say that the USA will grind to a halt, lack of customers, losses of jobs. You are quite the predictor of doom. Ain't gonna happen. Your observation leaves out a WHOLE lot of variables. Not your fault though....if I took a stab at such predictions, I wojud not know squat either.
Sad that you think uour country cannot weather just about anything.

Klugman is not just any economist, he won the Nobel prize in economics.

The economy was booming under Biden in spite of the fact the entire repub party was after him with attack after attack then shifting to Hunter where the one thing they found was him lying about drug use on an app for a pistol.
But they weaponized that small item making it sound like Hunter was the devil incarnate.
Yep, can't have the US doing well economically under a democrat led admin.

Yes, he won the Nobel, and Obama won for doing nothing but being a half white president, or whatever it was. I mean, what else could it have been?? So much for your first comment, Klugman is a nobeler with Obama. Not impressed.
So, since I ain't thinking about giving my opinion on this communist and your stupid post (I predict the tariff dust will go nowhere), I spent 12 seconds googling this article. Did you know this, little feller? Would you , who says repubs want big government, be OK with this person?

"""""Through it all, the big-government view found a ready spokesman in Paul Krugman. (He even sticks to a version of this role in his final column.) He rushed to blame unregulated markets for a financial crisis rooted in government action. And he justified Democrats’ gigantic expenditures — this was the era when trillion-dollar figures became mainstream — and unprecedented expansions of government as eminently necessary."""""

My my, did he just justify dem gigantic expenditures. Are you of little econ mindset sure you can hold up an argument on this?

Gigantic expenditures, like the 170 BILLION given to ICE, which is more money than our entire Marine corp.
I guess you figure since we are overwhelmed by child traffickers and cartel members, anyone with brown skin is now fair game.
What will you do when armed troops come into YOUR town? I know, throw flowers at them because they are SO welcome and things will OBVIOUSLY be better now.

So now the NOBEL prize is suspect because Obama won, not your lord Trump.
If Trump wins, the Nobel prize will actually mean something in your eyes.
I wonder how much Trump will pay to buy himself a NP? A million? 10?
That is the ONLY way Trump will get one.

I'm sorry,,,,did you just leave, abandon, discount, ignore the Klugman issue, which you yourself created??? I don't want to discuss him anymore since I just kicked your butt, I want to discuss you, that you leave issues at the slightest wisp of smoke. You may as well write about Trump on the phone in 2020 with the Ga lieutnant Governor. Wow!!!!

YOu have GOT to pick it up. Read The Book On Debating.
