Let's look at facts and numbers for Trump's presidency. Some probably disputable but I have references.
1) Expansion of welfare programs (1)
2) Increased illegal immigration (2)
3) Failed to cut low-middle income Americans taxes (3)
4) Accelerated increases in debt (4)
These are not casualties of a conservative agenda. These issues weren't caused by COVID. Core conservative issues went the opposite direction. Is anyone on the right-wing news bubble talking about how conservatives can't govern like conservatives? Sheesh. Hold these nuts accountable.

and charity balls, with a gorgeous starlet on his arm.
He owned the grand old 'Plaza Hotel.' He was
a registered Democrat but remained pretty much apolitical
and, of course, he was friends with all The Mayor(s).
I do recall, however, that he was pro-choice.
To be honest, most of us thought he was a pretty cool guy.
But he gave the conservatives what they wanted.
A conservative SCOTUS.
As the cards are falling at the moment, the biggest issue facing the conservatives is abortion, same sex marriage and gender fluidity.
Not the Ukraine, not COVID.
What they want is a 1950's America with the Judeo-Christian values.
Yes, they will rattle on about inflation.
But that is hot button pushing. And that button is hot all around the world.

The other stuff is hot button stuff for elections.
That's why conservatives wanted Trump.
Who is no more conservative than he is a democratic.
But he is the guy that can smash the China shop (or drain the swamp or whatever you want to call it).
Problem with Trump for the conservatives is that he is out of control, personally ambitious in an authoritarian way and now has most GOP support very nervous.
Which is why you have GOP leaders like Kevin McCarthy saying "I've had enough of this guy".
